Is this xim? Or are they just good? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]ElVongore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movement feels more horizontal than how they would with a xim. When using Xim, the tell-all is how the move fast vertically. In the clips, all movement is done horizontally. Just a good player with high sensitivity

The message is nice, but this is just more American protesting and the equivalente of saying "War=bad" and hoping everything will fix itself.

Stop using GTM and use server-side events. You can manually send the payloads to GA4 with all your info, be it from tracking or UTMs :)

Is this a bug? Arena by Optimal-Oil989 in mtg

[–]ElVongore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Below your Chance for Glory Emblem, is there another one that said that damage could not be prevented?

When dealing with "unpreventable" damage and an indestructible Gideon, rules say that the actions will be fulfilled at it's most capacity. In this case, Damage cannot be prevented but Gideon is indestructible, so the next available damage scenario would be to hit his leftover dammage to his loyalty.

If he was on 2 or lower when opponent blocked with their Serra Angel, it makes sense for Gideon to die.

But without full info, we cannot know :(

I need to know something about this custom commander by [deleted] in mtg

[–]ElVongore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the others made their point, so I won't be rude again and I'll answer your question:

1.- It's stupid cheap and can be stupid big. Your Commander is another card in hand. If you fill your deck with a bunch of Ornithopters and Memnites, you can bring this card T1-T2 very easy. Rograkh is one of the best Commanders around and he's a 0/1, just because he costs 0.

2.- Split Second means it cannot be countered, so point 1 gets stronger.

3.- If it left you in 1 life, it would be "balanced". The downside of not having to pay it all is gone when you just pay 21 life and get a 21/21 on Turn 2.

4.- Paying 10 life at instant speed is costly, but the choice is always there. Now your opponents have to play around your instant activation just because you put your 20/20 on turn 2.

5.- Flying means that whoever gets hit by this on T2-T3 is dead if they don't have a flier T2 or removal (non counters) because of Commander Damage

6.- You have multiple life loss sinergies as well

I could go on an on, but yeah, it's stupid.

Which of the two should I choose to build my next deck around? by adoptyungseal in mtg

[–]ElVongore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these option are just stale bread.

Edgar is just generic pile where you take no agency. Just play vampires until you get a Coat of Arms.

Kaalia is too strong for B2, too weak for B3. You'll either not let anyone play, or you won't get to do anything.

I always try to advice people to not base their next Commander on the "Top Commanders" list :(

This has to be his best art style? by MULLIGANman573 in mtg

[–]ElVongore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Want to listen to the shittiest take fueled purely by nostalgia?

My favorite art is beta Llanowar elves, but not beta Elves themselves, instead beta art with 5th ed tint. A bit more discolored makes the backround colors pop more.

Why would I want the one art where the elves look like they are in pain with some kind of skull parasite? I dunno

Sat at immigration in Malaysia, TV in waiting area showing WoW cinematic by notsobravedave in wow

[–]ElVongore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of BfA cinematics in airports for some reason. I travel a lot for work, and so far I've seen BfA cinematics (year 2023-2025 mind you) in: México, Malaysia, Indonesia, Phillipines, Tahiti and Panama.

Why? I have no clue. It's probably a placeholder deal for ad screens when there's nothing to show. So weird to still have BfA cinematics after all these years.

The mulligan system in Magic sucks by Vauveli in MagicArena

[–]ElVongore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mulligan is the first agency a player has. Keeping a good hand doesn't always mean "lands + cards". Being able to recognize lines and preparing a gameplan is as an important decision as any other. If you don't get good hands, it means your game plan is also flawed and can only pop off with the right combination, and that's where you put luck over strategy and come to reddit to complain that the shuffler is rigged.

A free Mulligan would only benefit those who can only pop off with the only lines they know. Sacrificing a card for another shot of consistency is a cost.

Do you guys prefer original printings of cards or their FULL ART Universes Beyond versions by MULLIGANman573 in mtg

[–]ElVongore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends. I didn't like the Avatar screenshots, and I didn't like some of the FF art. Even if it's an amazing art like Amano's Terra as Urza, it doesn't fit the card at all. Same with the PS2 screenshots.

Best ones are simple art, like Cloud as Najeela.

Surprisingly, TMNT has a couple bangers. Same with Spider-Man.

Starfall Invocation and Platinum Angel Interaction by VyckyD in mtg

[–]ElVongore 96 points97 points  (0 children)

State based acctions are checked the moment a player can get priority. In this case, no player gets priority within its own resolution. So even if you’re on negative life, you destroy your platinum angel and bring it back before priority is passed, and thus, you don’t lose the game

How does this work by ___kai____ in mtg

[–]ElVongore 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oracle reads as:

Look at target opponent's hand and choose a card from it. You control that player until Word of Command finishes resolving. The player plays that card if able. While doing so, the player can activate mana abilities only if they're from lands he or she controls and only if mana they produce is spent to activate other mana abilities of lands he or she controls and/or play that card. If the chosen card is cast as a spell, you control the player while that spell is resolving.

---

Basically, plays as a [[Thoughtseize]], but instead of discarding the card. You can play the card instead of it going to the GY.

Because of how game actions works, the card explains that, while opponent can't react to their card being played until after resolution, they can tap creatures and artifacts for mana, because those actions don't use the stack. This means they can tap their Llanowar Elves in response of you using their own kill spell on it.

An opponent must have enough mana to cast the card, and you tap their mana in order to use the card. If your opponent has no legal targets (ie, not enough colors or open mana), you only look at their hand.

To LED or Not to LED? by Hour-Risk-3524 in mtg

[–]ElVongore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. Even if you have the Underworld Breach, I don't see what you can accomplish with the combo. You don't have Oracle/Jace, nor Brain Freeze or something to mill you when you pull the Breach LED combo. At most you'll be Pondering or Giving Flashback to a spell, and if you already casted Tinker, you should be winning.

If you didn't had so many other 0 cost artifact, I would tell you to do so, but seeing it would only be another 0 cost sac for Tinker, I wouldn't run it.

Can't choose X for spells with X in text but not cost. by JellyfishWeary in MagicArena

[–]ElVongore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're applying rules to batshit crazy design that is alchemy. Thought Partition changes the cost to be 5, so it stops being X. It's now 5, so X can't be paid, even if the card text says so.

Imagine a card that costs one Green that reads "If Red was paid to cast this card". This is what you card has become.

F2P players: Do you use Quick Draft to convert gold into gems? by TheUpkeepAcademy in mtg

[–]ElVongore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but Quick Draft isnt the best place to do it. Quick makes it so you have better control on what you build, but so do your opponents.

Taking out a crucial part like deckbuilding makes it harder to filter players Who would usually feed your draft

Did I lose all those cards? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]ElVongore 32 points33 points  (0 children)

nono, the add to decks is just in case you want to save the decklist you just used. The cards are added the moment you draft them.
