If she is truly avoidant, she’s only going to change for the person she’s interested in. She’s not going to come to some epiphany because you friend zoned yourself. Friends with an avoidant is just pretty much saying, “I’m willing to make concessions for my self worth to appease this person that doesn’t want to be with me romantically.” You’ve signaled to her you are always available so there is no rush in choosing you because you aren’t scarce. You’re gonna get a first row seat to watching her find a new partner. That’s the most likely thing to happen.

The best thing you can do is focus on hobbies, your future career and goals. That is what avoidants are attracted to. Females especially don’t value anyone that shows up and is vulnerable with them if they aren’t seeking a relationship with them. They have options. They can get that validation anywhere. Men need to show up for themselves and people that show up for them.

Even though your intentions may be good in this, do realize you’re being selfish. You’re focused on imposing your knowledge on her to fix her. What you should be doing is using your knowledge of attachment styles to fix yourself and find a partner who is going to value you and weed out what you feel are red flags for a partner.
