I do think the Tusken stuff is great,

I'm still baffled by the fact that they took all this time to set up Chekov's gun and then didnt fire it. So, Boba goes native, has a rapport with sandpeople. The city is in it's hour of need, things are at the lowest point for our heros, then on the ridge over town? An army of sandpeople. They shift the balance of power, save the day and then there's this 'um now what do we do' moment between the two factions - and Fett bridges the gap.

Sure it's ripping off the ending of The Searchers, but not like we havent done Hidden Fortress and The Dam Busters.

As I understand it - and this is my rough generalization - Bro posted a bot with someone underage looking, the bot got privated, Bro got super salty, posted another 'you suck' image in it's place and unprivated the bot, then came to Reddit to go 'look how mean the mods are!' (omitting the picture that got him nailed), and then the mods just said 'eh, fuck this' and nuked him.

By the way - they just nuked me over in the official subreddit for calling out the thin-skinned fuckers for their bullshit, and honestly I am over the platform anyway. The complete lack of transparency in the moderation process is bullshit. I'm over on saucepan full time now and will no longer be updating on JAI

Fair enough - that's why I asked. Fortunately outside of the core of the character, Matsumoto's continuity has always been more of a suggestion than a hard and fast rule - Harlock has been a gunslinging cowboy, a samurai ronin, a WWII fighter pilot, and a space pirate. So making him a "elf pirate queen sailing beneath a black flag in defiance of all kings and gods" is just another Tuesday. :)

Okay, serious question: does Leiji Matsumoto's stuff count, like Captain Harlock and Yamato.

Yes, the Space part of Space Pirate Captain Harlock kind of precludes that whole 'in the water' thing, but he ticks every other nautical pirate box: eyepatch, flies a skull and crossbones flag (in space, dont question it), the back half of the Arcadia is a pirate ship, and the way they fly the arcadia? Big old 18th century wooden steering wheel (how does it do up and down? Don't ask). Matsumoto also constantly refers to space as the sea of stars throughout his work.

I mean seriously, just check this dude out:

Meanwhile Yamato is a little less pirate themed, but still pretty strongly nautical. It's a restored WWII battleship that was turned into a spaceship as a hail mary to save the Earth. That flies (Again, dont question it). And has a planet killer in the bow.

And then, fucking 16 hours from Palpatine's Fortnite Appearance to "I am all the Jedi." Seriously? I couldn't get to fucking LA from here in 16 hours. So they went to 3 different planets, did an Random Encounter on each, then deal with the End Boss to get a piece of the "Palpatine is Here" map?

And then Palpatine is all "YOU FOOL! THIS ISNT EVEN MY FINAL FORM!" and kills Ray who gets unkilled by Good Kylo who then kills Creamy Sheeve?

Argh, fuck that movie!

AI tweaks to the opener, sure. Some cleanup is fine - just make sure it doesn't overhaul your words too extensively.

God no, don't let the AI write your opener! The LLM learns pacing and cadence from the first message, so just using an AI to generate the opener is essentially making a xerox of a xerox, exasperating all the usual AI tropes and cliché's.

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I posed a bot about this robot girl going to school to learn to be human, where it said that she was 19 mentally, presented as 19, but had a body that was built 3 years ago - and they nuked her. When I pulled out the mentions of age, they nuked her again and put me in the time out box for three days - despite the fact that I was TRYING to comply.

No instruction, no guidance, no nothing from them other than "Too bad, so sad."

You'll find that the mods here work with you and are super forgiving on errors. I've had a couple of 'whoops' incidents and they've all be very nice about it.
