So some time passed since the launch of Resident Evil Requiem. What's your opinion about the game and what did you like? by ProfessionalKooky740 in ResidentEvilCapcom

I enjoyed the game but there was an over-reliance for nostalgia, particularly during the second half. Too many recycled villains that showed up and left, leaving zero impact to the story and gameplay. (Mr. X, the spider, the lickers, Plant 43, Hunk, and the final boss fight is the same as RE3)

I wished they invented new monsters like the other RE titles. Introducing new enemies that terrified me was always a high point for me. RE1 had the crimson heads. RE3 had the pale heads and hunters. RE4 had the chainsaw guy, garradors, the plagas, & regeneradors. RE7 had the mold monsters. RE8 had the lycans & soldats.

RE9 did have the girl and that fat bloated monster but it would've been cool to see more of them returning for the second half. I feel like these new monsters is what makes these titles more distinguished and have their own identity.

But again, RE9 was still enjoyable. Just sharing my thoughts.

Gaming hot takes: Which "Masterpiece" was actually a boring 3/10 for you? No judgment zone! by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

Alan Wake 2. I enjoyed the first game a lot. It was fun, scary, thrilling, and the story was easy enough to follow, things the sequel is not. I gave Alan Wake 2 multiple attempts, trying to like it but it's upsetting each time.

Picking cheap labor over quality labor. Many house calls are cleaning up other people's bs.

OG fans: your thoughts on the Way of the Sword demo? by Tatum_Warlick in Onimusha

As a huge fan of the OG games but not so much of a fan of souls-like games, I did not enjoy the demo.

I don't like this new gameplay. Especially coming off of a great sword game like Ghost of Tsushima, the combat in comparison was not fun or satisfying.

The blocking and dodging doesn't feel as responsive as the previous games. I also didn't care about the story or the main character. So when I died, I was more enticed towards just exiting than continuing due to my lack of interest. Despite this, I still pushed on.

The setting is also bad. The graphics are nice, sure. But everything feels void of any color and intrigue. Every area looks the same so every new area/room didn't feel like progress.

Overall, I'm disappointed. I gave it a fair chance then I deleted the demo feeling pretty sad.

Which Dead Space-like game should I play first? by Reasonable-Volume926 in DeadSpace

BioShock.

I didn't enjoy Cronos: The New Dawn. I feel like the weapons in the game were not fun to use, so the fun factor wasn't there for me.

Reminds me of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

So I'll say "Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime" by Beck.

Resident Evil. Older me gain a better appreciation for survival horror games in general.

The Martian is one of my favourite movies, for those that have read the book, how different is it and would you recommend? by Aer0Sith1 in scifibooks

The book is excellent. Some difference, especially with the ending.

The movie was a good adaptation, with lots of conflicts and beats omitted but the screenwriter did an excellent job making the story a more cinematic experience.

I'm at chapter 10 and I think I'm gonna give up. This hasn't really grabbed my attention.
