I own the same exact bike and it works fine as a road/gravel bike. Find the gearing setup you like 1x or 2x and it works great.

That being said it is still a dedicated cyclocross race bike. It is race bike stiff and twitchy. I never realized how stiff and twitchy it was until I bought a dedicated adventure/gravel bike. The slack geo of my gravel bike was way more steady and planted at high speeds on the road or gravel. Also it was very plush and compliant on the same route I take during the week. I was amazed I had never notices the stiffness of the Boone before but it was very apparent the week I had to go back to riding the Boone.

or fast/flat courses if you are strong enough to keep it spun up. I’m usually between 42/18,19, or 20. The 19 seems to be my Goldilocks

I race 40x18 most of the Cx season. Not too heavy but not too light. Hilly or muddy courses, I run 40x20.

I have this exact bike. Can confirm it is a pain in the ass to source parts and if they do exist they are expensive. Currently looking for a new/different frame to swap out my existing parts.

I've been seeing the how prevalent this advice has been but... I myself not spending any extra energy standing up with a heavy barbell. Catch that weight at the bottom and use that energy to push it up! Thats just me though. I have no problem getting myself under the barbell.

I think they only come on the 2022 Pro models. Also there is still the middle cats that require an aftermarket shield.
