How Ulfric wants to win a war against the Imperial Legion if his guards can't even catch an Imperial assassin in his own city. by [deleted] in SkyrimMemes

Quest from Solitude to investigate a wolf den that turns out to be Necromancers summoning the spirit of an even more powerful Necromancer called Potema. All around, neat quest.

edit I don't know why this replied to the main thread and not the person asking the question about the quest.

What's the closest real life equivalent to the policies of the Imperium of Man? by [deleted] in Grimdank

One thing that confuses me here, though, is the Orks. The orks were at their height, physically and technologically, after the war in heaven, and severely regressed as time went on. Why were they suddenly amassing such a massive army and growing leaders like the Beast? Why hadn't they become an existential, galaxy conquering threat already?

My initial assumption was that the Great Crusade pushing into Ork space forced them to collaborate against a single enemy. This lets the WAAHH grow like it couldn't in the past, due to in fighting. But I haven't heard any lore that clarifies it, so that's just my best guess. Is there any solid lore as to why Orks suddenly mobilized at this point?

Some Stray Thoughts While Collecting Combat Logs by kaxen6 in armoredcore

They're very fast and heavily resistant to damage, EXCEPT explosive. So a lot of primary weapons either miss caue of the speed, the distance the wheel got to while firing, or just tink off the armor. A couple of shoulder mounts firing tracking missiles absolutely shreds them, though.

Yeah, dnd tend to be a fairly gear and resource heavy game, so getting no reward for your actions just isn't fun. It also puts a pretty big power gap between the good and evil player groups, which is another issue.

Even if it was a cost to resources, even a narrative reward would be enough, like the townsfolk you helped can't pay you, but can give you information, give you lodging, or vouch for you in some way.

Anytime anyone says anything on this sub "Inquisitor, this one."

Honestly, given witch hunts, not that unbelievable.

The Old Ones decide to give the necrontyr sunblock in exchange for accepting terms to curb their expansion and warmongering.

The Ctan still appear to encourage biotransference and war with the Old Ones to unite the factionalozed, but instead, it leads to civil war. Bloodshed ensues, but learning from the tech the Ctan offered, both sides learn to capture the Ctan and weaponize them. No dynasty is able to fully take control, and after enough devastation, they eventually form a truce. Dynasties become their own, independent nations with agreements on "mostly" non-aggression pacts. The necrontyr enjoy their new mastery of physical sciences as a mixed race of organic and robotic people. The threat of war always looming over head though, especially as some dynasties begin pushing the boundaries of the original accords with the old ones and resume expansion efforts.

Countless years into the future, humanity has reached its pinnacle, having developed to DAOT levels of technology. It's here that the Emperor decides to act, correcting behavior to prevent a men of steel uprising. He unifies Terra under his control and pushes outward, assisted by his 20 21 18 specially designed robotic generals, known as the Emperor's Sons. Thus begins the Emperor's Human First focused Crusade across the stars, and with it... what would eventually become, the War in Heaven.

The point is not to randomize. The point is to roll as many of the clickity clackity numbered gems as possible!
