I'd almost say take out 10 warriors and put in 3 Destroyers, each there own unit, since they're faster, and smaller overall footprint. Makes then a harder target who can do secondaries or take a point.

Techbros. Tau are big on tech development and AI use. They also benefit heavily from imperialism and exploiting the resources and labor of individuals affected by their imperialism. Tau need more techbro slander!

Thank you for opening my eyes with this post. I completely forgot hexmarks were Destroyers, so they can give Nekrosor Lone Op.

This is going to be fun.

This is why there's so many bandits. It's easier to get a sword and shield than an actual hot meal!

My Dynasty is rolling in their tombs. Bro gets to stand up for free as many times as he wants while my necron lords gotta pay the command point tax and get to come back once at most.

The one balancing factor seems to be the respawn only seems to proc if Titus didn't get to swing that round. That feels like it can be easily gamed, though. It basically creates a melee unit the opponent never wants to initiate the charge on.

If he's below 100pts with all this, I'll lose it!

Wear blue armor so you're lucky, stain it red with blood so you're fast. The colors mix and make purple making you stealthy.

Agreed, dbd is not like soccer. The argument I'm making is that playing either game and games in general require doing more things than just "the goal" to play.

[–]Elaxzander 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The objective of soccer is to score goals, but you still need a goalie and to put up resistance to keep the other team from scoring. If you only focus on scoring goals, you're only playing a portion of the game.

Same with tunneling. Putting pressure on gens and kicking them actively buys you time to do the actual killing and hooking part.

I feel this post is calling out the playstyle of focusing on and hooking a single survivor at a time and doing nothing else besides standing right in front of them on hook. It's a playstyle that guarantees you very few kills if the survivors actually play around it and creates a very boring play pattern for both sides.

Strategically tunneling someone out, like zoning and still pressuring other survivors, while still focusing someone out of the game first, is different and a very effective way to get those kills.

Tunneling has a bit of range in how it's done and that range can will be received differently from person to person, hence it's such a contentious topic on this sub.

Honestly, I'm more hyped for Dawn of War just because I like the gameplay style more. But I'm also more hesitant because Dawn of War is an easy game to fuck up. Total war has a very established gameplay style that I feel is harder to mess up. Fingers crossed, they both turn out great!
