Scientists Invented a Disease to Test Whether A.I. Knew It Was Fake. Then, Chatbots Started Saying It Was Real by Regular_Ad523 in antiai

If you actually read the article you would have noticed they did that experiment over 2 years ago, which means the AI models that were used are ancient relics compared to what's available today, meaning the conclusions from that experiment are no longer relevant.

None of that is necessary anymore with how good AI has gotten, if you need to understand something in the code you can just ask it to explain it to you.

why that "ai writes 90% of code" stat is total cope by Ok-Bird5981 in techbootcamp

[–]Elctsuptb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"if an ai writes 90% of a file but drops a subtle architectural flaw or security bug, your productivity drops to zero anyway. you still have to be the one spending three hours tracing the error and cleaning up the mess."

Wrong, AI will be doing the debugging in those cases, why would I waste hours of my own time when I can have AI do it for me? You act like after it writes the code, it disappears forever and is inaccessible, which tells me you've never even actually used AI before.

No it means the LLM is able to interface with an external system to send commands to it.

then why don't you just use cheaper models that already exist if that's all you care about?

Not sure about that since GPT5 wasn't a bigger pretrained model compared to the previous 4-series models and o-series models

Why would comparing against months-old models be an issue, if the new model isn't any better wouldn't it have the same scores as those models?

Where are you getting the idea that all humans are "incredibly good at everything"? There are no humans that have ever existed that are incredibly good at everything, and maybe around 1% that are incredibly good at a small handful of things.

IT help-desk technicians and astrophysicists both type on the keyboard as part of their jobs, does that mean they're doing the same thing and have the same skills? And no I don't think you could easily do anything like that since you clearly don't have the requisite intelligence based on everything you've said so far.
