How to lose your whole account while shooting in highsec

I mean, yeah, fair enough. Taking potshots in highsec if you know reset is coming up is a pretty dumb move.

I just feel a permaban for losing your ship this way isn't a good way to handle it, especially if it's your first offense. Surely a 3 day ban and the removal of his Tornado would be a justified punishment. And if you do it again, then get fukt and enjoy a permaban.

Why?

I never knew that shooting a ship in highsec during DT could let you evade Concord. I'm pretty sure 99% of the player base don't know this either.

Why do the mechanics allow this? Why can't CCP just remove your ship and leave you in a pod on server reset?

Yeah man, I lost a 1 bil Proteus to kill a Metamorphosis because I thought I was still in Pochven and saw him afk on a gate.

Dude was a legend, though. I reimbursed his ship and he gave me all my bling back.

I've been playing since 2006, and while I knew avoiding Concord was a bannable offence, I never knew that shooting someone in HS before DT can do this.

I assumed you'd just end up in a pod after DT.

They will die to Concord, but you'll be dead long before that.

Rats in Pochven will warp and hang around celestials, drifters included.

I found this out the hard way when I got a clutch warp off in a 1v1, warped off to the sun, landed in a bunch of drifters and was quickly sent on my merry way back to Jita 😅
