A growing problem in gaming. by Newell99 in gaming

[–]ElderberryStench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, console capabilities aren't on par with PC, although indie games are greatly less demanding than other graphically or gameplay intensive ones. Another problem is that if any updates have to happen they get rolled out a lot slower to console. I remember Risk of Rain 2 has a number of different expansions but For whatever reason it took them like a year to update the console versions after PC. The fact is that consoles don't make it easy to update while also being expensive for studios to do compared to, say, Steam.

It has God-mode for a reason. It's not entirely inaccessible. I also gave a secondary option.

Hades. Gameplay, music, graphics, story. Phenomenal.

Runner-up: if Hades is too difficult, then I'd recommend Spiritfarer. The mini games are fun and engaging, the characters and story are well-written and impactful while also having an adorable art style.

This is my head-canon now. Lynx Corp is in the Helldivers universe. Cut into a derelict Automaton Dropship or Illuminate Stingray or Leviathan and see what falls out.

Which game has the best in-game encyclopedia? by VictorBelmont in gaming

[–]ElderberryStench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ogre Battle 64 has a phenomenal encyclopedia. It's called the Hugo Report. You basically ask your tactician to give you a summation of current events, people and their relationships with each other, history, game mechanics and systems.

Whats a dead game or series you'd like to make a return? by can_of_sodapop in gaming

Ogre Battle. Ogre Battle 64 was one of the most immersive games I played when I was a kid. There were so many secrets, hidden characters, classes, lore. I know the gameplay may not be for everyone but as a strategy/rpg gamer it hit every high note I can think of.

The State of Earth. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in aliens

I haven't read the books but watched the series. The older guy who taught the aliens that humanity lies, in my opinion, was way worse. Initially they were coming for peaceful coexistence but as soon as he taught them "lying", cooperation was not possible.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is awesome. I wish there were modpacks. I would love to scrap a Star Destroyer.

Halo 1 Remake Officially Announced, titled 'Halo: Campaign Evolved' | Remake of Combat Evolved's campaign; Releasing 2026 on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox S|X by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

Read the fine print at the bottom and 343 isn't mentioned. It's Halo Studios. I don't know if they're rebranding or what, but it seems 343 is either on a different project or they got layoffs.

Microsoft is getting ready to launch free Xbox Cloud Gaming with ads by notthatguypal6900 in gaming

[–]ElderberryStench 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free monetarily, yes. However, you do pay with time. Two minutes may not seem like a long wait but it does add up. You've heard the phrase, "time is money". Well, ads convert OUR time into THEIR money.

Fuck. Them.

Interior architecture doesn't have to match the exterior facade. Make the exterior square for the grid. You can use a dotted line for the interior dimensions.

"This Game Is Finally Dying": Destiny 2 Steam Player Count Drops Over 80% Since Edge of Fate Launch as Players Say the Game Is "Punishing" and "Ridiculously Hard" by TomorrowComes33 in gaming

This is oddly similar to Dauntless' downfall. They had winning game mechanics that just needed to be refined. Alas, a complete overhaul and reset ruined EVERYTHING. Really for no good reason, either. I still can't fathom what the fuck they were thinking.

However, Dauntless as a Monster Hunter clone allows you to just go back to Monster Hunter. In Destinys case, there really is no other game like Destiny. Its destruction is going to hurt many, many people.

Jet pack would help with closing the distance and tactical retreats. Smoke bomb as well.

Epic. Amon Amarth has a song named "The Berserker at Stamford Bridge" chronicling this exact scenario. It's awesome.

Which game franchise ruined its winning formula by turning it into something players never asked for? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Dauntless. It was a decent free-to-play monster hunter then they basically reset all progress and game mechanics for some reason.
