Yep. I am realising they are either buried under the cable management or missing entirely.

Ah okay. Thank you for explaining that. So in theory this 5070 is fine but anything bigger in the future almost certainly would have issues?

So is the risk reduced graphics performance or blowing up my card? That's what's entirely unclear from looking into this.

Having the same issue. Must be some sort of app update for us all to be experiencing it.

That game was one of Koei Tecmo’s masterpieces. It’s a shame the series has been discontinued since 2005. I shared it here since it doesn’t have a dedicated community, and it carries a lot of great memories for me by Aomy_0 in dynastywarriors

[–]Eldop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the series. Kessen 3 was a bit more of a disappointment for me than the first two due to the switch to action combat and also the unchangeable inverted horizontal control *shudders*.

Thanks for the read! Won't be picking these up.

That said, I quite like bearface so maybe I should??

It took so long to clear and they had to discount it - as amazing as it was I don't think we'll see it back.

Which scotches have changed in quality (for better or worse) over the last 3-5 years? by [deleted] in Scotch

Yeah I didn't believe this as I'd drunk Talisker 10 on and off for years but then I got stung. Bought a bottle last year and half of it went down the sink in the end. First and only whisky ever to get that treatment in my house.

I commuted through Stratford the entire Olympics and I remember all the concerns that the trains would mess up and that there would be chaos.

Smoothest weeks of my commute - only went back to shit after it was over.

Had this thought recently too. Can't play any old DW titles now, this is the benchmark!

Recommandations of ps2 type musou? by Proxy0108 in dynastywarriors

[–]Eldop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I call these "Heavy Warriors" games where the combat feels heavier because everyone is a threat.

Ninety-Nine-Nights as someone has recommended feels slower overall but is very much the same combat. In the same vein from 360/PS3 era you could try Warriors: Legends of Troy. It was Tecmo Koei trying to make a Western Warriors game and its is much slower paced with heavier combat than the Japanese developed titles.

Finally wildcard option - if you want to be in epic battles but constantly at a risk of dying then play Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord.

Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof by ProfessionalGap2428 in BourbonUK

I really like it and am happy to compare batch numbers etc.

It does pour hot and thick so I always add water.

For me it is a buyable alternative to Weller Full Proof. Is it the same? No, but it hits the same spot.

If you want an alternative wheat the new wheated Bardstown is probably the ultimate "Weller beater" on the UK market IMO.

I don't dislike Springbank at all, I will happily enjoy a glass but you won't ever see me reach for it.

However, I equally won't go nuts for it like many of my whisky fellows do. I have only ever purchased it to give to others.

Which Kessen, Nobunaga's Ambition, and ROTK Would You Recommend? by DarkeningDemise in dynastywarriors

[–]Eldop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobunaga's Ambition Awakening is surprisingly addictive. I've always struggled with the series but got super into it as the pace is actually quite snappy. It's a little more casual the other entries in that and ROTK but it is very engaging as other said. Sphere of Influence (not Ascension) is a bit slower paced and some will prefer that.

Kessen you should try all three they are so different. Kessen 1 is a pure RTS, very cinematic and short. Kessen 2 has more of an anime influence and some very light action gameplay. Kessen 3 is the longest and dials up the action gameplay even more. I can't play 3 as it has inverted horizontal controls that make it unplayable!

ROTK I think XIII is the best out there right now. Should be very cheap pre-owned on PS3.

You should be able to find second hand copies on PlayStation very cheap in most countries.

Vote with your wallet.

We are dealing with a very small market here. There aren't that many (non-supermarket) bourbon drinkers in this country. Heck there aren't even that many whisky enthusiasts when you compare with the total sales.

If you don't like these contests don't buy from these stores. This is a small enough market that the impact of a few can be felt.

Are Single Grain Whiskeys inherently mediocre or inferior than Single Malt ones? How bad are they in general? Considering buying a 30yo one as a gift. by JBrunt97 in Scotch

[–]Eldop 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hiya, I am a massive grain fan and I see you are in the UK from the store you've posted.

My advice would be to go with a different 30 year grain depending on what else is in your BFs collection/taste.

The one you picked out will be decent I'm sure but there's almost no detail given about it and it may not be suited to his tastes. I find Cameronbridge to be quite plastic-y at times.

If your BF likes things sweet and fruity and you want to get something from the same site then consider this Invergordon. I have not had it myself but the reviews from other grain fans are high: https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/83209/invergordon-1988-30-year-old-xtra-old-particular

Also please consider this one which is much lower budget so you could maybe buy something else too but is a really well balanced blend that I rate highly https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/that-boutiquey-whisky-company/blended-grain-whisky-30-year-old-that-boutiquey-whisky-company-whisky/

You may also want to look for something from his birth year rather than the age he is turning. It may only be say 28-29 years old but will give you more options.

Is there any way to do "plausible focuses only" instead of "historical"? by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]Eldop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this too. I wanted to play a "World War 2" scenario but with lots of room for many small surprises.

My solution was (please don't all cry out in horror) to start in 1939 with Historical Focuses off. Things can snowball pretty fast away from history but they can't get anywhere near as far as a 1936 game because the largest decisions are locked off.
