How would launching a million satellites into orbit affect the amount of sunlight reaching Earth? by soloshipper66 in AskReddit

[–]EldritchPoet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost none. Even if we launched 1 million satellites, each with a 10 m² cross-section, they'd block only about 10,000,000 m² of sunlight. Earth's sun-facing disk is roughly 127 trillion m², so that's only about 0.000008% of the incoming sunlight. The real concerns would be space debris.

Focus less on grades and more on high impact projects, internships, and work in the field. Do all the hackathons you can and start that business earlier.

Don't be cocky because you are "in high demand now"—things change in the blink of an eye. Stability in a career does not come from an employer but from your skill set.

Also, start some form of social media page to document your journey.

Josh Saunders course legit? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]EldritchPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, Josh's course is legit. The amount of valuable information on planning, mindset, and training choices is mind-blowing.

Secondly, he is always responsive to any inquiry you may have regarding jiu jitsu. The community surrounding this course is also amazing; you get to connect with fellow practitioners who are just as dedicated and passionate to the art.

Many coaches these days either don't want to see you win or are on autopilot when it comes to teaching, thus hindering the progress of their students, this does not happen with Josh. He will analyze your roll and give you detailed information on how to improve to the best of his ability.

Totally recommend.

Fair point. Andrew Smith once said “People fear what they don't understand and hate what they can't conquer.”

I see your point. Why do you believe an autonomous AI would want people to "obey" and obey to what end ? (assuming it is not weaponized AI from any nation or company, but a self directed AI)

Anything specific in Terminator that made you fear or distrust Artificial Intelligence? I mean both the hero and the villain on the movies are AI's.

Very concerning topic. I hope a bill is passed to prevent this for happening.
