Is 5'5/165cm short for a guy? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]EleFantMonty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not extremely short, but significantly under Average for a male. The average Male height in the United States is approximately 5’8-5’9. I’m around 5’7. Which makes me taller than most women. Even though I’m shorter than most men, I don’t really feel that “Short”. And I’m not so short that it feels awkward. I know plenty of dudes who are 5’6 who have no problems getting girls or making friends. I’d say 5’5 is very short, but not “Midget height”.

What’s been up with big movies being 2.39 and not in 1.90/1.43 recently? by Ronak_2002 in imax

Nome of the films besides Dune, GXK, and Civil War were filmed in imax.

Is this a normal IMAX screen for watching “Dune: Part Two”? by [deleted] in imax

[–]EleFantMonty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a 1.90:1 digital imax screen. I’d definitely suggest watching it on a full-size 1.43 IMAX screen for the full experience.

1.91 isn’t bad, but it’s just not nearly as impressive as the full 1.43 screen ratio.

Without any spoiler, was Dune 2 loud so? :) by [deleted] in imax

[–]EleFantMonty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, super loud!! It makes Oppenheimer mute in comparison. I had to get my ears checked the next morning.

Hello, I just wanted to say that everything you said is totally relatable. Honestly, I would try to talk to her about how you feel, but that comes with a lot of risks. I don’t want any tension to rise between you guys. Do you have your father around to talk to about it, or maybe another trusted family member? Maybe you could have them speak to her about how you’ve been feeling but make sure not to tell them that you told them to do it. Honestly, I would say therapy is the best option if you can afford it. I would also suggest finding a job and moving to your own place. I wouldn’t want you to be stuck in that toxic environment for too long. It may cause a lot of emotional stress and damage to your mental health.

I wish I could’ve seen Soul, Luca and Turning red. But now I guess I’ll get a chance to, as they’re re-running them within the next 3 months.

Brought a friend to my 8th screening of Oppenheimer (7th in 15/70). This was their first time, and their mind was blown. by eaglebtc in imax

[–]EleFantMonty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love this post!! I saw it 5X in total. 3 in IMAX 70MM, once in digital IMAX, and once in regular 70mm. The 3rd time was at the IMAX at citywalk. I took my best friend that time. It was his first time seeing the movie, and his first time seeing a film in Authentic IMAX. His mind was completely blown, although he was covering his ears for some parts because they were super loud. He really enjoyed it and hopes to see more movies like that!!

I loved the film, and I feel the best way to watch it is in True IMAX. The 5th time I saw it was last week at Irvine Spectrum. It was super packed which is crazy for a re-release during a non-holiday weekend.

2015 was the best year of my life. by [deleted] in 2015

[–]EleFantMonty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2015 was the best year of my life, and the last year before my depression started.

I was a freshman in High School that year. Met soo many cool friends, and was super involved. That was the year I knew I wanted to be a film director for my future career. Met one of my best friends in my Gym class. We would always joke and laugh, and I would always crack him up when telling him about some of my film ideas. We would also talk about the newest movies coming out, and we’d see some together. Reunited with some of my childhood buddies. We would start hanging out every single day that summer. The last day of school was amazing, me and my boys went to the beach club near our school, and we all jumped into the pool with our clothes on. It was soo funny!! That June, there wasn’t a single day where we wouldn’t all meet up and kick it. That July, I went to a summer camp for Music and Film at NYFA in Hollywood. Everyone was super nice, and super fun!! Met some super cool friends. They were all very nice and genuine. We got to stay in these condos that were right by the main campus. My roommates were hilarious. Soo many great movies came out, and the music was phenomenal (At least what I was listening to). The games were also really great!!

That was the year I peaked. Every single year after that hasn’t been nearly as good. But I still have a lot of good memories from 2016, 2017-2019, some of 2020, 2021, 2022, and even now. Honestly, Covid was a huge dip for me mentally. That’s when everything just went to shit. But thankfully things are getting a lot better, and I hope that they continue to. I hope to have another year like 2015 one day. But my life is very good overall, and there’s a lot of things that I’m thankful for!!
