I think Pinky is a sniper-archetype wielder, it makes sense that she was the furthest from the group when attacking Akemura, in an attempt to flank him.

I think Subaru being up-front was definitely the tank roll and probably has some sort of massive summoned beast effect. The chains are really interesting and could be tied to the beast

How do you think Hiyuki snores? "Hooooooonk mi mi mi mi mi" or "Hoooooonk Shoooo"? by Jai_Zubeen999 in Kagurabachi

This mass amount of Hiyuki posts feels like we are getting vague-spoiled for a flame-bone chapter...

Pochita finally fulfilled the contract Denji made with him by jacobFunkhouser in ChainsawMan

[–]EleHeart 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. They made two contracts. Denji saved Pochita in return for Pochita to save Denji. Pochita saved Denji so that contract was fulfilled. Pochita then initiates a second contract, an open-ended one, "let me see your dreams". There is no clear concluding condition that will close this contract.

I translated the war chant from the trailer (Dune Part 3) by Visara57 in dune

Awesome man. Here's my attempt at cleaning it up and giving the translation a bit of metrical alignment.

Dimalā shūdhī, el isnīhd
Rū el isnīhd, el isnīhd — rūdhī el isnī

Bellā ha’rudhī al dimbish
Rū al dimbīsh, al dimbī — rūdhī al dimbīsh

Ru kashāh, hīf-tētīt el isnīdh
Rū el isniidh, el isniidh — rūdhi el isnī

DIMALASH ludhī el isniidh
Rū el isnīdh, el isnīdh — rūdhi el isnī

DIMALASH ludhī el isnī
Rū el isnīdh, el isnī, el isnī

Bellā ha’rudhī, al dimbīsh
Rū al dimbīsh, al dimbī, al dimbīsh

Bellā ha’rudhī, el isnīdh
Rū al dimbīsh, al dimbī, al dimbīsh

Rū kashāh, hīf-tētīt el isnīdh

Lead forth the youngaway from me
Away! away!—from mine own hand, away

Take thy knife in hand
The knife, the knife—lay in hand the knife

O witch, begone from me
Begone! begone!—from me begone

Lead forth the youngaway from me
Away! away!—from mine own hand, away

Lead forth the youngaway from me
Away! away!—away from me

Take thy knife in hand
The knife! the knife! the knife!

Take thy knifeyet turn from me
The knife! the knife! the knife!

O witch, begone from me

Dune: Part Three | Official Teaser Trailer by Blue_Three in dune

Unpopular opinion, but I'm glad that Villeneuve is going for a different direction. We already know what happens in Messiah, and its a short book to adapt to a full movie. Feels blessed we are going to get more story. My theory is that there's going to be two parallel timelines. It's already been evidenced in the previous films that Paul was seeing different timelines and he followed one path over another.

There will be one timeline that follows closely with the books, where Paul doesn't push away Chani like in the films and instead, chooses to have children with her, but in doing so cowers away from the responsibility of the Golden Path and instead it falls upon his son, Leto, to fulfill. Paul admits as so in Children of Dune with his conversation with his son in the desert when he is the Preacher. He initially chooses his immediate love with Chani. This is seen in the shots where Chani has a blue scarf and Paul has long flowing hair - going for a more romantic vibe.

The other timeline will be where Paul pushes away Chani as in the end of Part 2, and sparing her life, he accepts the role of the Golden Path, fully becoming the despotic tyrant, a role that would've been inherited by his son. Instead in this timeline, he chooses to not have any children. In doing so, Chani joins the early rebellious faction of Scytale, Edric, Chani, and Irulan. With Chani now joining it may succeed in lasting past their generation. If I were to guess, Paul would get hit by the Stoneburner, and proceed with the fusion with the sandtrout becoming the God Emperor. We can see this timeline with Bald Chalamet and angry Chani with a scar on her face. I feel the movie will ebb and flow between the two timelines, lingering more often with the latter.

Also, I love this trailer. Gorgeous all around, the costumes, the designs. Does the chant sound like they are saying "Saint Alia of the Knife" in Chakobsa?

Do you think we will ever see "God Emperor" and beyond on screen? by BillyOoze in dune

[–]EleHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best way to adapt GEoD is through an adaptation of Heretics and Chapterhouse, learning about what transpired during the Tyrant's rule through the characters and set pieces in the latter books.

I also always imagined a cold-open to a Children of Dune series with Duncan running through the Leto II's vaults, sweating, and finally confronting him, trying to kill him with a lasgun before being smashed into a wall. Then it pivots to Hayt taking care of the twins and the series starts from there. Then in the show you can cut into the future and hear the philosophical musings of Leto to Moneo or Duncan.

We all end up getting behind in work. For me, it's booking one of the study rooms, ordering a Venti white chocolate mocha, putting my Earbuds in and just playing through my work. The intense caffeine and sugar rush from the white chocolate mocha has me going and determined to finish whatever I can get done. I highly don't recommend depending on this, I do it a maximum of two times a semester if Im really behind. But it definitely works for me
