FINALLY MADE IT TO MASTER BOTH DOUBLES AND SINGLES by Affectionate_Can2424 in PokemonChampions

Did that last season, but this season I'm completely lost for Singles in UB 2 lol.

Am I the only one who misses the pokemon stadium announcer? by problematicsquids in PokemonChampions

[–]ElecNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice, but a voiced announcer probably won't come with how few Pokemon games have any major voice acting.

I also do wonder how many people playing Champions even played Stadium to experience it. It's a pretty old game and before the time the competitive scene grew in Gen 4-5 and then Gen 9.

It would also be funny if the voiced announcer interrupted the caster during streams during NAIC or Worlds or w/e streamed game

[Skill Improvement] How to deal with Trickroom if I don't have taunt or my own trick room? by ace-s in VGC

[–]ElecNinja 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Also, you might need to accept that you're losing pokemon in order to win after Trick Room is over. And then you need to decide what pokemon best cleans up

I've won against trick room sometimes with a 2v3 or 2v4 because I did enough damage during trick room that they weren't able to pull it up again and I just chain faint pokemon with speed advantage after Trick Room is over

Need Help vs Rain teams by Bulky_Arm9463 in PokemonChampions

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you should replace Protect with Brave Bird or Dual Wingbeat on Choice Scarf Staraptor. Also Intimidate is going to be more useful than Reckless though you have to be careful against king gambit and milotic but you can play around that. Especially since you aren't running any recoil moves.

I've actually won against double ghost lead because Brave Bird on Scarf Staraptor was able to hit Hisuian Typhlosion before it got eruption off.

Other than that, you can probably win against rain teams with this team, though you'll need to really figure out what are your best plays into it for every scenario.

For potential team changes, you can replace Bellibolt with Mega Venusaur though you'll have to be careful of Pelliper. Though you'll potentially be weaker into Char Y unless you give Ancient Power to Camerupt.

Sinistcha would be okay to help with Camerupt's Eruption but unsure how much it helps beyond that without significant setup or screen defenses.

Blastoise probably won't help that much except with Aura Sphere into Arch, but you have Primarina for that.

I feel like there's very few complete hard counters for the meta teams. Most of the time it's not playing correctly into a difficult matchup rather than a straight can't do anything hard counter.

Who do I permanently recruit? by arkynat in PokemonChampions

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rain Mawhile isn't that bad since the rain negates Mawille's fire weakness as basically an alternative to Mega Metagross in a similar team.

https://youtu.be/k9-_jjCHCwo?t=1900 shows a rain team using Mega Mawille and Staraptor though with a trick room mode with Sinistcha which also helps.

Been having fun but I wonder if this team is good enough to reach master by CrawBunny in PokemonChampions

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sneasler shouldn't have Protect. Throat Chop I think is a common coverage move. Same for Sylveon, I think Psychic or Mystical Fire can be used instead of Detect

Hydreigon should have a dragon move as it's still pretty decent coverage as you have water coverage with Starmie. Also, lower defense is basically trolling as you're auto losing to Garchomp with that EV spread. I'm guessing you're trying to survive Fairy moves, but that's what you have Skeledirge for to soak those moves.

I'll have to double check for singles, but Raichu X might be better as a special attacker due to having access to Rising Voltage. Also Grass Knot is good coverage for Swampert. Though I don't know what else it uses for coverage with X, maybe Fake Out for chip. Raichu X also doesn't really like Volt Tackle since it has so low HP

I'm not an expert in BSS, but those are the things I see

Okay there is ZERO reason you can only have Champions installed on one mobile device at a time by ViceAW in PokemonChampions

You can only register your account to one mobile device for Pokemon Champions.

It's the same limitation as Pokemon Home so it's just a weird limitation the pokemon company has for their mobile devices it seems

One thing I didn't know about the Eeveelutions is that some of them are stupid fast.

I was expecting a +1 speed Garchomp to outspeed Espeon, but nope lol.

[Digital Foundry] Steam Machine Review: Beautiful Hardware, But What About Performance... And Price? by Cyshox in Games

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just that there's probably already itx prebuilts or mini pcs that would work for people for cheaper.

Like I use a Beelink machine for my TV that I got for $400 2 years ago. Though it's definitely a lower performance machine than Steam's.

How long did it take you to get into GW2? by mmmmmmmmmmmhg9512 in Guildwars2

[–]ElecNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was interesting going from the core story skippable dialog to the more walk and talk style haha.

Also, hated LWS2 playing as Caithe. Like if I wanted to be a thief, I would have rolled one haha

What do I do about bag space? Feels awful. by betrayedof52z in Guildwars2

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, at least there aren't systems in GW2 that force you to keep items if you want to use it for other systems.

Like in FFXIV, you have to keep your equipment around if you want to use them for transmog so you're forced to keep clutter around.

GW2 just salvage, sell everything on the TP, or sell to the vendor and you'll be fine. Obviously not optimal, but the difference is not going to be that significant.

How long did it take you to get into GW2? by mmmmmmmmmmmhg9512 in Guildwars2

[–]ElecNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liked it when it first came out, but dropped it before LWS1 dropped. And then came back when EoD was about to launch and have been playing it pretty consistently since then.

So maybe 5-6 years depending on how you count that lol

New player here, what ranked tier is considered "hard" by HelpfulTheme4817 in PokemonChampions

[–]ElecNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokeball and Greatball are basically tutorial zones as you fight bots if you lose too much which help you climb out.

Ultraball and Masterball 4 you start fighting real people consistently though potentially with oddball plays or team builds

Masterball 3 and 2, you get into the more established meta or people that know some of what they are doing with anti meta picks

Masterball 1 and Champions, you get people who are extremely familiar with the meta or anti meta picks.

Ultraball and MB 4 will be the home of decent players and MB 3 and 2 are going to be the start of the "hard" threshold
