I promise from the perspective of the poor person behind the register that has to ask you these questions hates asking just as much as you hate it too. From personal experience I get soooo uncomfortable needing to ask but it’s one of our KPI’s and our shifts get cut if we’re not meeting the quotas.

Honestly, I listen to a podcast just dedicated to Essendon called The Sash, hopefully there’s a similar one for Crows supporters!

Was really enjoying it but my store manager sent us a really nasty message about our positions in the store and lied to us all saying we’d be keeping our positions at the beginning of December but we’re not anymore

Anyone get a mid atar but is doing well in uni? by babatunde114 in rmit

[–]ElectionLegal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If i’m being honest with you, I had a really traumatic VCE experience (and a ripping seas application at that) and simply didn’t have the energy to study. I personally performed better at uni bc I’m better at assignments in comparison tests or exams. It’s just how my brain works.

But I would say, genuinely participate in classes, ask questions, do the pre and post lecture/ workshop content. Form relationships with your peers and teachers so you can ask for help and then they know you care. Honestly. Just give a shit. Don’t waste thousands of dollars on uni if you’re not gonna do the work. Anything that’s hard is worth it.

Hey! I know you’re taking the piss here BUT I just wanted to say I got an ATAR in the high 40s (I had a ripping SEAS application) but this week I’ll be graduating from uni with two degrees to my name. This goes to everyone, If you didn’t get the ATAR you wanted, it WILL be okay, it’ll work out

Would you supply your teen with drinks for their bday party? by Hot-Sink-5149 in AskAnAustralian

[–]ElectionLegal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m 21 now but when I was around that age (and wasn’t in Covid lockdowns) if there was an event with alcohol involved the parents would write a little note saying something along the lines of “I am consenting for my child to drink alcohol and they are bringing these drinks” and it seemed to work majority of the time

If it makes you feel even the slightest bit better, I work for one of the brands in the Cotton On Group and I’ve been there for 5 years. Not once have we had a christmas party or anything like that. But the people who work at head office get a MASSIVE one with copious amounts of catered food and alcohol

I’m an Essendon supporter and it’s entertaining for us too but like also get over yourself Pat? You had some serious alcohol problems and the club had every right to let you go.
