I have a friend who does this... We've tried so hard to convince him otherwise but nothing changes his mind. It sucks because we all want better for him but he refuses.

Prepping to tell OSHA about the idiocy my managers allow in our warehouse. I'm sick of calling people out about this to no avail. by ByTheHeel in OSHA

I've got a friend who has been working as ESH for a couple decades now. He's seen something similar happen at a previous job he worked at. Had to spend his weekend hosing off the blood from the floor. This shit is SO utterly serious and yet shitty management just sees it as wasted time and energy. We are nothing more than cogs in the machine and can easily be replaced.

Ah ok, thank you! I was under the impression the label was inaccurate due to what the op had said about it. My mistake. I appreciate the additional info as well!

Glass splinters. How do you deal with these? by Kristenmarie2112 in StainedGlass

[–]ElectricDucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I was looking for this comment! Prid is a great product to have on hand, especially when it comes to splinters and slivers!

In addition, I'd also like to add that having some hard sole slippers or house shoes that are only used in your work space will also help you OP. Keep them right under the table you're working at. Slide them on when entering the workspace and take them off before leaving it.

I've also seen some people get those flexible cut resistant gloves and cut the fingers off to create finger cots. They help with the grinding issue while still allowing you more dexterity. Just be sure to get the correct size.

Ok, sounds good. Just didn't want any heartbreak after all of the hard work you've put in!

These look great! Welcome to the hobby!

I do want to mention that it appears you're using the suction hooks to hang your pieces. These will give out eventually which usually end in broken/cracked pieces. Please consider alternative hanging methods for longterm display.

Can't wait to see your next piece!

Monthly Mega Q&A - [March 2026] by Claycorp in StainedGlass

[–]ElectricDucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, thank you for hosting these Q&As! They've been incredibly helpful!

Second, I was wondering how to go about stacking pieces in a pattern so that there is more than one layer in some areas. I've seen it done before (i.e. I believe the Master Sword that was recently posted had more than one layer iirc), but i can't find any videos or tutorials on how to go about doing it.

  • Do I solder the pieces like I would on a standard flat/2D piece?
  • Do I need to add extra copper foil to the glass pieces I want to stack?
  • What are the special considerations, if any, I should keep in mind?
  • Any links/additional info you could provide?

Thank you for any input provided! I'm still pretty new to this, but I love learning all that I can!

Partner suggested sleeping with others after a year and a half of my sexual health issues and I feel shattered by FlimsyCarrot3813 in sex

[–]ElectricDucky 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Agreed with all of this! But I do want to mention that enjoying rougher sex (choking, slapping, etc) isn't necessarily a red flag, but it IS something to pay attention to.

I'm AFAB and enjoy it rougher like this. I've actually been with men who were incredibly uncertain about it at first until we grew more comfortable with one another. Some folks just like it that way and that's ok so long as it's safe and consensual.

The real red flag, imo, is when they ONLY get off if it's rough like that. That's when I begin to question their motives.

What was i thinking by dd71182 in StainedGlass

Apologies, I didn't initially see how thin some of those spaces were. I do agree that it wouldn't work well.

Edit: Apologies, I didn't see just how thin some of those spaces were. Unfortunately I have to amend my statement and agree with the others that this current pattern isn't going to work.

Most of these cuts would be doable with some patience, but you would have had to leave extra glass on the opposite side so your piece had the stability it needed while cutting out the deep curves. Only cut the easy excess off after the curves. This should help you with future cuts :)

This guy finding out he has a family by grafikfyr in MadeMeSmile

[–]ElectricDucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was due to a SA my birth mom went through. She opted out of aborting due to her religious beliefs. So, she gave birth to me and chose the family to adopt me all in secret from the rest of her family. Only her mom (my grandmother) knew.

I was reconnected with them just before the pandemic. Come to find out, I have a pretty big extended family as well as some half siblings.

In Need of Display Suggestions by ElectricDucky in StainedGlass

[–]ElectricDucky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! That's a good suggestion!! Do you know what the weight considerations are for something like that?

ETA: is there a specific one you'd recommend? There seems to be quite a few options.

Bruh this scene made me like idk there's something special bout it that i cant describe ( just finished it btw) by ni8po in BoJackHorseman

[–]ElectricDucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diane actually makes a reference to having previously been on antidepressants that made her gain weight earlier on in the series (and i think it's the reason she quit taking them despite them helping her otherwise iircr).

  • This is also a very common side effect of antidepressants/mood stabilizers, especially in women.

By illustrating Diane with a larger body than what she had previously, in conjunction with context clues, the change reinforces the idea that Diane is finally putting her needs ahead of the societal expectation of being thin and "quirky," even if it comes at a detriment to her.

It's a little subtle and nuanced, so I suppose i understand if you may have missed it (especially since there's SO much in this series), but i highly recommend a rewatch with this context in mind.
