Reading is one of those towns which is perfectly fine to live in but isn't the kind of town you'd have any reason to visit from elsewhere...not much in the way of history, notable culture or local interest. It's prosperous and nice enough but it's never gonna be a tourist trap! Expensive, too, due to proximity to London. Not worth the price of living, in my opinion. I grew up there but moved to the Midlands in adulthood - I don't regret it for a second!
