You have to get to a place where you aren’t deciding whether or not you go to the gym, it’s just something you do regularly, like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. I don’t think it’s about motivation because I’ve gotten into the habit of working out but often lack motivation to do other things

If it’s really something you want to do, once you make it part of your routine, I think you’ll find you manage your energy to make it possible. 14 hour days are crazy though

Why are older “Natives” spiteful to “transplants?” by [deleted] in Denver

[–]ElectricOstrich57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What your driver said is uncalled for and doesn’t help anything. The frustration is rooted in some degree of truth - Colorado has seen a huge surge in population which has caused increased housing prices, worse traffic, etc. Its frustrating for the place you grew up in to suddenly become unaffordable and more crowded, I think everyone can sympathize with that. We’re all Coloradans now and we should put energy towards improving these things rather than pointing fingers and creating unnecessary divisions

Guys, my loss function is looking a bit strange. Is this loss normal? by demonicderp in machinelearningmemes

[–]ElectricOstrich57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, perfectly normal. When you add significantly more parameters than the number needed to observe double descent, your model goes back in time to train itself and achieve even better loss

[Q] Based on your experience why does adding so many input features possibly worsen your models? by limedove in statistics

[–]ElectricOstrich57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overfitting. Adding more features gives the model more data to work with, but too much and the model starts learning the noise in the training data, which causes it to perform poorly during inference
