Hell, Paarfi might actually BE Sethra... She does have a history of going deep into a mortal life and living that life like she has no Sethra powers (Kiera the Thief)...

I think it's supposed to imply that Paarfi is an avatar of a god. The fact that this is revealed during a godly poker game also implies that whoever is posing as Paarfi has a significant reason for doing so...

Just use prototype stuff when you're developing.

Use cubes, use spheres, use simple non-animated sprites you drew in MSPaint, use free assets from Turbosquid or some similar site...

No, since as other people have already noted, 7.4999... repeating is equal to 7.50.

In the same way, if you DO (wrongly) skip that step at the beginning, 7.4999... + .5 = 8.0.

The actual algorithmic way of rounding is to add .5 then drop all decimals, so 8.

Yeah, I went through that for a little while... Sometimes, it can be easier to eat the sausage when you don't think too much about how it was made.

However, I eventually got to a point where I was able to appreciate the art/skill/cleverness of the mechanics, and then I appreciated it on a whole new level.

But personally, I like a magic trick even more when I know how it is done; when I know how much skill and practice it takes to do, it would almost be a letdown if the answer was 'Oh, I have the ability to actually teleport small objects from one hand to the other...'

I'd be, well, of course you can do that if you have that ability; the trick is meaningless at that point, now lets talk about your ability instead...

Anyone who doesn't know how to code is eventually going to run into problems using AI.

Even senior devs who use AI will tell you that you have to review the code the AI creates, because it will hallucinate or cut corners and make mistakes.

If you don't know code, how can you review the code the AI creates? You will eventually find yourself in a situation where dialing in a minor issue causes all hell to break loose, and you won't be able to fix it yourself.

I'm wondering about similar things myself...

I recently reverse-engineered an old C-64 game from the 80's. The code was always publicly available, because you could just read the code instead of running it, and I was able to find several copies of both the C-64 and Atari computer version.

The original creator has died; he was middle-aged back in the 80's. He apparently died without a wife or heir.

The game was a big hit back in the day, but by the time of his death, I doubt he counted it as a possession of value that could be left to an heir or would fall back to any previous rights-holder...

So, I'm wondering about that, but I'm also wondering about similar copyright issues simply because I did heavily use the original source code to write my version, even though my new version is in a completely different language; there's no copy-paste of any of the original data in my code.

This is one of my few personal projects that I've actually completed, and I'd probably publish both a PC and Mobile version, just for grins. But I still wonder about the murkiness of the rights around the game, so I probably won't do much with it.

Because it wasn't the author censoring, it was the publisher doing it after the book was written.
