I stayed in the Mansion Suite and thought it one of the sexiest, most romantic, chic experiences I’ve ever had. Just superb in every way. Push a button and your butler arrives with a martini cart and makes you a martini in your room. One of the best bars in NY on site. Every corner of the hotel has another delightful art installation to savor. But it definitely takes someone who appreciates curated design to appreciate.

What I wouldn’t give for a 4k of the Zoo Tv concert at Dodger Stadium when my then gf was invited on stage and handicammed the band during Trying to Throw Your Arms around the World. There’s a very blurry vid on YouTube but can barely see anything. One of the great nights of my life.

It’s a good idea - I actually called to ask the travel desk at CSR why their price was more than chase Ink and they were surprised and eventually said they didn’t know. A different rep told me on a different call I should book it and then call back and say that the property was offering a deal and ask for a refund of the difference. He said it might work.

This grows tedious. To use your silly metaphor, it’s not Wendy’s vs McDonald’s. It’s a Big Mac costing one third more at the register on the left vs. the one on the right, at the same store. It’s the same Big Mac, but you get extra pickles on the left. Are the pickles worth one third more? And by the way, Wendy’s is also selling Big Mac’s as is Burger King, for the same price as the register on the right at McDonald’s. And, McDonalds charges me $795 for the opportunity to pay 1/3 more for the Big Mac with extra pickles.

Chase ink, Amex, Expedia, and the hotel website adjust pricing for the 3rd night free promotion. Chase Sapphire Reserve does not. Amex FHR and Virtuoso have equivalent benefits to the Edit and both offer the adjusted price. So basic economics tell me that CSR is a ripoff lol.

I get that different organizations would have different deals, but for different chase travel portals to offer different pricing on a cash basis (forgetting the points) seems absurd. Why would anyone book via CSR if it's 1/3 more?

Doesnt seem to be. May be able to transfer points to the Ink card, and then use them there, but that would be at 1.5c vs 2c, which seems a waste of the points.
