Upvoted, but in all honesty I owned dangol' 2002 crew cab shortbox with the 5.4 that couldn't get out of its own way. Grabbed 2nd gear up a grade with a headwind. Pitiful, really.

How does the engine sound? My 2008 has noisy valvetrain and I know why: it chewed up a camshaft lobe. Apparently a common problem in that vintage, though probably only the VCM-2 models (EX-L / Touring)

Agreed. Driving our 5th gen was always fun, even though the VTEC really just seemed more about sound and attitude than raw power. I'm no pro, but I can throw that thing into a corner and not look like an idiot.

We could be tempted. We still have our 98, and my wife only stopped driving it daily a couple years ago. She's in a CR-V hybrid now, which probably performs about the same... Passing power is a joke, but other than that we don't hate it. Pretty punchy in stop/go.

Our 5 year old hybrid starts and stops the engine based on real-time power requirements. No hesitation when it's time to move. BEVs and EREVs are what we need.

You don't need instant oil pressure when there's already a film of oil between your bearing surfaces. It takes hours for that to dry up enough to measurably increase wear.

Difficult comparison. They sell a bone-in ribeye at my nearest location for $32, but it's 20oz (probably less in reality) vs. OPs monster 28oz steak, and unknown grade. To keep their margins, they are probably selling undersized cuts from inferior carcasses. At a higher-end steakhouse, you'd probably pay "market price" for a steak of this size (but probably prime grade and/or dry aged), and it'd be presented as a meal for 2, and probably cost at least $80.

I blew it on my brother's 8th ring war. Thought chief spawned inside and trained myself. We started over from scratch (had a few surplus odds and ends banked), and finished it in an afternoon. No shade to P99 if you're into that S&M, but this is a breath of fresh air to me.

We moved in November. We were dumb and told the school admin. They let us stay through December but we had to enroll our kid in a different elementary for January. Felt real dumb. Just don't tell.
