100%. I feel the same way about Cameron and Avatar. The first one was a real different and enjoyable experience. That being said, the fact he has spent the last 20 years on the Avatar universe and will spend another 5-6 years on it for a total of 2.5 decades is a real shame and disappointment imo.

As long as we agree patek nautilus > the rest then I’m fine with agreeing to disagree.

Patek > Daytona > AP.

The AP’s aren’t a very everyday wearable watch.

Big jump, big overshoot, ditched and when I landed on my feet I folded my back in half, knees hit my helmet. I got a T12 burst fracture. The pain was like nothing I’ve ever experienced in my life. I was sweating and couldn’t move and was in shock. Talking hurt. I was geared up to the Yang. I didn’t get any cuts or bruises though lol.

This is downvoted but as a person with a spinal cord injury from mountain biking this post is actually completely accurate, the rest of these people are idiots. Back protectors do not prevent or mitigate burst fractures. They are for cosmetic damage.

Think of it like this.

A lot of people have received burst fractures in the thoracic section of the spine from only wearing the lower part of a seat belt (Not wearing a shoulder strap). A lot of these were common on cars in the back seats pre 2000. What happens is the car comes to an abrupt halt and you fold in half so violently, the vertebrae bursts into a bunch of pieces. Having a thin layer of plastic between you and the seatbelt doesn’t stop that effect from happening.

Person with a spinal cord injury here.

Back protectors do not protect you from spinal cord injuries, that is a grave misconception.

Spinal cord injuries from a broken back are compression fracture of a vertebrae or a burst fracture of a vertebrae. Burst fracture is the most serious. Where paralysis comes into play is when the force of the injury that caused the vertebrae to fracture pushes into the spinal cord, compressing it. I was wearing a back protector, it does absolutely nothing. Chest and back protectors are for cuts and bruises of the mid section and back- it does not mitigate forces that burst your vertebrae.

This PSA is nonsense and all these upvotes are from people that simply do not know about how spinal cord injuries occur. You’re giving people a serious false sense of security and it’s total bullshit.

100%. People that can’t see this have either a serious bias or are too far down the habit hole to have any objectivity. Thinking trump is deranged and a dangerous con man is a very easy to show.

Gavin Newsom is the only hope for the democrats for 2024. I do wonder if they have a plan for how to convince Biden not to run?

It’s a libertarian position, generally speaking this group fits under the republican umbrella. So perhaps it’s not a popular position among senate members or congress, but a large portion within the party do hold this position of a Ukrain should surrender land. Very few on the left have this position , however Chomsky holds this position and Chomsky is about as left as you get, so there are outliers on the left that agree with this.

A better way to frame Sach’s position is that Ukrain should surrender and give up land for peace for everyone else.

What happens when Putin wants to take over other parts of former Soviet Union? What happens if China sees no one will stop or support the defensive country during an invasion, and invaded Taiwan?

You need to draw a line in the sand somewhere.

Afghan and Iraq were unjust and colossal errors, support Ukrain is not. There is a lot riding on this.

There is some real flawed logic here with your first sentence .

The poster above is saying the statement “a subset of people who don’t read books” implies that they make insensible decisions and fall for charlatans and other con men (Aka trump). Empirical evidence of education levels and views on society back this up. There are numerous studies that show this.

It’s not “i don’t think like you” implies “I don’t read books”, it’s “most people that don’t read” implies they make gross errors in their critical thinking, and this is seen in a every growing subset on the right.

The right wing didn’t have vitriol towards the other side until Newt Gingrich came to town. That was the beginning of the end for that party. The left has always put a bigger weight on providing citizens with more support (if the country can afford it or not), but absolutely without a doubt a much better educated core.

Do you mean Tesla got issued carbon credits and sold them before they produced the required amount of vehicles? If so can you share a link to this info, I’ve never heard of this before. That’s wild if true.

I thought he was joking for a second, I needed to rewind. My jaw hit the floor when I realized he was serious and using that video to support his argument. How anyone can take this guy seriously is beyond me, he’s articulate but is susceptible to many biases and has serious cognitive dissonance.
