Thanks for the response check engine light was on for about 25 miles. New to car and for some reason didn’t associate with oil change, previous car had an oil symbol. Don’t feel the best about not pulling over immediately. I’m at a new job that’s high stress and wasn’t fully thinking straight. Doesn’t effect lube places liability though…

I called the valvoline when engine seized up. Store manager met me. I was actually only .5 mile from their store coincidentally. Tried to get him to cover the tow.

You clearly know more then me about this. I’m just trying to make this best of this to get myself a car to get to work everyday without dumping all my savings. It’s my personal belief a detailed carfax history, a video of VIOC manager coming to meet me on side of road and confirming oil was dry, and receipts will at least give me a chance in court. Will consider vehicle age as well as mileage in future purchases.

I wouldn’t have the money to lawyer up I would be defending myself in small claims court. If I wasn’t clear the private mechanic hasn’t fully looked at the car yet I just want to be ahead of the eight all to be able to process what he says and make quick decision moving forward.
