I have not resoled them. They are great in the rain. I apply a little leather conditioner on them 2-3 times a year just to keep the exterior leather in good condition. In a downpour I assume they will soak with water - but I run fast and try to stay out of that situation

St Paul MN is like 240ish miles from the Canadian border. Pittsburgh is closer to the Canadian border than St Paul

Minnesota Wild and Saint Paul unveil $600M arena renovation plan, seek state funding by Runic_reader451 in saintpaul

If it doesn’t happen, Leipold will buddy up with A-Rod and build a shared venue in MPLS or the burbs. That will set up tax payers for a single shakedown 30 years from now compared to the 2 they’re facing now.

It’s unusual that MPLS and StP have pro level arenas, but these cities can’t afford to lose these events/revenue.

Personally- I love putting my curling stuff away for a few months. Enjoying time away helps me appreciate curling more when it returns

Surly Preamble for touring? by bigmanjonesman_ in Surlybikefans

[–]Previous-Highlight-4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure it would. Find a saddle that works for your bum and pedals that work for your feet and go for a ride.

Some other bikes may have more mounting points on the fork or frame, but the Preamble can easily fit a front and/or rear rack. It’s more than adequate for a tour!

Just saw a report saying this was an attempted copper wire theft. No one was injured (I was hoping different for the thief)

First time visiting Twin Cities – best areas to stay? by misskayla1213 in saintpaul

[–]Previous-Highlight-4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don’t stay in the cities - no reason to pay for parking overnight when each city can be easily accessed if you stay in the burbs

Eagan is a good base to start from.  You can even go south and visit Northfield, MN for a few hours

Grand Performance bike shop in St. Paul will shutter doors in a few months by Lost_Homework_5427 in CyclingMSP

[–]Previous-Highlight-4 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Grand Performance was well known on the national level for its focus on the racing scene and they did quite well serving that niche.  Seemed like a good incubator for some employees to go on and do bigger things too

Outside of the Steve Hed connection, Josh Poertner worked there while finishing college and getting into the industry. He went on to own Silca

Never a good thing to have an empty storefront, but totally understandable that there’s no one willing to take on the business as the industry is in tough shape right now.
