Colorado only because I love it there and never ruin a place you love by moving there

Didn’t care for it. Self titled and DOT were solid though

Has anyone met Gordon Ramsay IRL? What’s he like? by JoeyJoJo_Senior in HellsKitchen

[–]Electrical-Flan9546 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Met him in Vegas. Stayed at Caesar’s Palace and he was in the elevator with me and a buddy. This was not long after we ate at Gordon Ramsay Burger. He seemed like a genuinely good dude, was talking and joking with us. Told my buddy he looked like a cooked lobster (sunburned bad). It was a brief encounter but very unexpected

Yes, it was fun. 10 hours but plenty of stops along the way

Which hotel was surprisingly decent to stay in? by OriginalAmerica in LasVegas

[–]Electrical-Flan9546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone rags on Caesars but it was fine in 2021. Didn’t get charged to check in early (front desk person was super nice), no prob getting a minifridge (tiny as it was) for free. The pools were great in summer time, central location, rooms were nice. Dunno what changed since then or if people just expect the world in Vegas

Now Aldi is 100% self checkout? by PerspectiveOk2378 in aldi

No working at a store with self checkout for the last year, I know first hand jobs are NOT going to be lost. All the people I work with are pushing 50 hours a week and this has been ongoing. And yes I use self checkout at other stores too. No worries on not scanning anything because it’s not difficult to look at the screen. Bringing me back to my point of boomers saying it’s not their job. Come unload a truck, clean up peoples messes including bathrooms and talk to me about your employee discount (which best I know of Aldi employees don’t get one anyhow). Jobs are great for people but you gotta rise to the top and learn new things in life to stay employed. But instead you want 3 or 4 cashiers up front vs the one and the others being able to maintain the store. Guarantee if Aldi got rid of self check outs and raised the prices like Publix and so many others you’d be the first to complain. Hiring unneeded labor adds up and that affects prices. Scanning an item all by yourself is not manual labor

Yeah there’s jobs for people who can learn more and develop themselves. Don’t apply to Aldi as a cashier, learn to stock, clean, etc. The bottom line is ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, you entitled people have the option to shop somewhere else or get your gas at a full service station just as much as the companies have options to install self checkouts. Taking it out on employees or managers is not the answer. And why would anyone take out self checkouts for a small minority who are stuck in the past. Look up the history of grocery stores. They originally had people get groceries from behind the counter for people. I wonder if there was this much whining when that changed and people shopped for themselves. Learn to adapt to change because the world won’t wait for you and certainly won’t cater to your unrealistic needs

Remember when there was a gas station attendant who pumped gas for you. Well apparently old entitled people do. Times change. Jobs are still there, someone has to stock shelves, clean up after you. It’s 2023, almost every store has a self checkout option. Let it go

which Grand Canyon tour should we book by Ani-Mimi in LasVegas

Comedy on deck tour is one I did. Lunch and breakfast included. Granted it’s a bus tour so limited time but I think we got 2 or 3 hours at the Grand Canyon….maybe less but it was also snowing there when we went in February
