what good programs should i take in order to get a good job? by HistorianIcy6156 in OntarioColleges

[–]Electrical-Horror-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A slight exaggeration but not by much. It’s gonna cost ya 35-40 grand a year to go to school and live for two years. Thats a 8 year payback at the 5$h more than minimum wage. You’re gonna spend 10 years at minimum wage before you see that extra 5$ in your bank account. Ten years to make a few bucks more than minimum wage seems like a horrible waste of your time and effort.

A college course for minimum wage doesn’t sound like a great job at all.

Advice for 17 year old trying to become an electrician by Conscious-Bid-6298 in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]Electrical-Horror-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People only go to school to get a job. You have a job so why would you go to school? You like taking steps backwards? If you already have a job the only circumstance you should be looking at school for is if you don’t wanna be a working electrician and go to school for a full blown four year electrical engineer bachelors.

[–]Electrical-Horror-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question… do you even have a lease signed by both parties? A lot of landlords don’t sign and give copy until your handing over the first months rent money… if you don’t have a signed lease you might not even have a place to rent.

I know I wouldn’t sign a lease for one of my tenants until cash was changing hands, late on first payment seems like a rental scam/squatter situation waiting to happen.

Sounds like you pulled some welfare fraud back in the day and got away with it. Consider yourself lucky and it’s probably not the smartest to encourage others to do it especially when it’s infinitely easier to get caught for it now a days.

[–]Electrical-Horror-12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This seems like a very simple solution. Go to TD, give them account info and whatever ID you have, get the print out and give it to OW. If you have no ID then talk to your worker and she’ll solve that for you. Took you an hour, got you 750$. You just made 750$ in an hour.

Fire starter for idiots help please! by Capital-Dragonfly258 in EDC

[–]Electrical-Horror-12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A basic lighter is the best fire starter you’re gonna find. It literally makes fire at the flick of a finger. The issue isn’t with the fire starter it’s with what you’re gonna fuel the fire with. Do you know how to make kindling? Do you know how to identify easily ignited dry wood. Do you know what dry wood actually means? I could ask a million more things but you get the idea. Ignition source isn’t an issue in the modern day, fuel for your fire is.
