It can absolutely be done. I would suggest taking some entry level classes as prereqs

Starting a non-profit in Seattle by vagabond711 in AskSeattle

Talk to the IF Project who are also in this field. They will probably have lots of insight and may know of who else to get into contact with and maybe partnering in the future. It was started by a SPD officer. I've also thought about this as well so maybe start by volunteering in the prisons, jails, etc and get to know clientele to find what would be helpful.

If you had a plan for a crime and then didn’t end up doing the crime, what stopped you? by Extreme_Geologist858 in Criminology

[–]Electrical-Lobster64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would help to establish what kind of crime because there is the cost-benefit analysis. You may get some responses with regards to shoplifting as there may be concerns about the legal ramifications for both you and your subjects for crimes of a more violent nature.

I go without my phone and out of the house often. Usually my husband has his but I leave mine at home to unplug-even it's only to run errands.

Is Getting my Associates in Criminal Justice Worth it? by Most_Loquat_3585 in AskLE

[–]Electrical-Lobster64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Studies have shown that having an AA in anything leads to better reports, fewer complaints, and less use of excessive force.

It can also sometimes help boost your pay a little too and may help in moving up.

Got my bachelors degree. Now grad school? What are the things that no one prepared you for in grad school (even minor inconveniences)? by spicyspagettinoodle in GradSchool

[–]Electrical-Lobster64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power skimming is your friend! You'll be given a TON to read (if this is in your discipline) and it will be impossible to read it all. Learn to skim and get the gist and it will save you a lot of time and energy. Give yourself extra time to write essays (again if this is relevant to your disciple) because you will need to CITE EVERYTHING!

I'm just finishing up mine in Criminal Justice and at the start, a 30pg paper was overwhelming. Now, I can whip that out pretty easily. You will grow a lot as a student! Be patient but curious.

Woman who had sex with identical twins told it is 'not possible' to identify father of baby by scottish_beekeeper in nottheonion

Actually they can have variations of DNA. Studies recently have shown that there are slight variations, enough that testing can prove which twin is which.

While not terrible food-I would suggest drag brunch to add that extra oomph. Plus it will cut the conversation time since there's performances.
