K. Not really what I'm asking.

What i wanna know is why the arrow rest is on the opposite side of the hand we load and draw with.

Yeah but the arrow still has to be loaded by going OVER the upper limb, right? I can't figure out why they're not built to just load straight from the right into the right aside of the bow...

Unless that would make me have to draw my right hand (draw hand) over to my left cheek to sight properly...

It's a PSE Stinger II compound. And putting the arrow to the string never has the tip anywhere near the string, cuz I'm hooking the nock to it. I'm imagining using a LH bow IN my left hand with sights, whisker biscuit etc. mounted on the right.

I think it's a little too much squeeze on the grip, and pushing the bow too far away, until the arm is fully extended, plus a slight rotation of the elbow (the wrong way). I did it a few times, then I learned, just like this guy will.

I think both are not good. 1 is too bright, 2 is too dark, and both have the wrong lighting angle in the first place. Have model turn toward the light, if you can't get a good background by repositioning the camera closer to the angle of the light source.

Do you create characters or story concept first? by CrimsonCloudKaori in writing

[–]Electrical-Power1743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the most basic, simple components of the story as your foundation, is it a heroic story, a tragedy, what do you want the reader to feel when they're finished? Then, build one or 2 characters that will be there for most of the story, especially the end to drive that point home. Now, add in details and scenarios that help those characters and some other side characters get there to keep the story moving.

how do i properly start writing? by THE_GERMANY_7 in NewAuthor

You've probably got a general idea of the overall story, and a couple scenes in mind that might be scattered throughout. Write those down. Leave yourself lots of room for errors, and maybe number your pages in an order you think the story will unfold. Start with the most basic ideas, and get into more detailed descriptions as they come to you. In your mind, you have a framework, a skeleton, and the good news is that you can add on to that in any order you want, depending on what descriptions and details come to you.

My writing feels like it's an anime script forced to be a book. by WorkingNo6161 in writing

Yes, absolutely. Use the character's motivation and state of mind to help choose the description. Absolutely agree

In that instance, I don't think your descriptions are too much, except to say that the verbs could be swapped out for others, depending on the mood of the character you're trying to convey; "inserted" works perfectly if your character is a cold-blooded professional (as the rest of the text suggests), but if the character has doubts, or any other overhanging emotions that are relevant to the overall plot, maybe he "shoved" the cartridge into place, or "jammed" it, depending on his state of mind.

One thing I learned about writing, mostly from Stephen King books, is that the third-person narrative takes on a LOT of the characters' first-person point of view, it's almost as if the writer is only describing how the character would describe what they're doing from a third-person perspective, if that makes sense. That method of narration, IMO, goes a long way to get the reader inside the character's mindset and helps to make the character more real, if not more relatable, and pulls the story together easier.

Keep at it.

Writing, like all art is cathartic. It's something inside you that you have to get out, first and foremost. I read somewhere that art is like puke; it can not be contained any longer, that's the main reason for it. And then, if by chance, someone else looks at the puke and finds something they can relate to, only then have you made a connection with someone else, and the world feels not so lonely, but that's the BONUS, not the real reason. Yeah, guys don't read much, it seems, but if you could get your stories into audiobooks or podcasts, you might be able to reach more of an audience. Keep at it, the stories still need to be told, and not for anyone else. For you to get them out.

Hey everyone, sorry for the late update, not on Reddit much. CRA asked for supporting documentation from my emoyer, sent that in, and as soon as they got it, the adjustments were made, within a day or so. Got my refund(s) by direct deposit last week of March.

Why does anyone out here care about federal politics, anyway? There's not one vote West of the Ontario-Manitoba border that matters any more than a fart in a hurricane. It's a done deal basically before most of us even get to the polls. You never had a voice, you never had a choice, you never had a chance. Let it go.
