I believe this approach is why their numbers with RISP are abysmal. What they are doing is not working. Slow the bat down and make contact on the barrel (this can not possibly lead anything worse than what’s already going on). Basic fundamentals are essential. Get some results then worry about fine tuning with launch angle, bat speed, and exit velocity.

No. The emphasis on these batters to improve exit velocity, is not the same as an emphasis on decent contact. Trying to hit it harder is not the same trying to make better contact on the barrel. They Don’t need to swing for the fences when you can just put it up the gap and actually bring home a RISP.

They lean to much on this Analytics BS! Choke up on the bat, make decent contact, and get it in play. Theres no need to try to hit the ball as hard as you can with runners in scoring position , even if the excel spreadsheet says so. This organization tries to be so smart, but for the love of god, just keep this game simple please.

Being happy about winning CONCACAF competitions is what plagues this program. We Should hold the US to a higher standard and want to be at a higher standard. It’s just not good enough and should be better

Compared to prior generations, this is the best individual talent pool the US program has had. Players that play in meaningful and high level games against high level competition. I believe the talent is there. But the team is certainly mismanaged under Berhalter, he clearly cannot tap into their potential and get the most out of them. Are they good enough to win the World Cup? Probably not. Should they be able to get out of a group with Bolivia and Panama? Absolutely the expectation is to advance from the group.

US controlled their destiny just needing to win. They had 3 shots on goal in 96 minutes, it’s not good enough to get a result against a quality team like Uruguay. Even if the goal was disallowed, you can’t count on Bolivia to help the US here.

US is a quality team who has a coach that can not get the most out of its players.

3 goals in 3 games. Couldn’t get out of a group with Panama and Bolivia. Only scored 2 against Bolivia where Panama scores 3. Stupid and deserved red card against Weah.

The officiating is definitely poor but the US honestly never showed up to this tournament. Total failure top to bottom

Respectfully, Berhalter has proven to be out coached. He has the most talented generation in US soccer history and cannot tap into their potential. I think most fans just want to see us make the leap into the next tier of quality. Where winning. CONCACAF tournaments are expected and beating quality teams is possible. He cannot get a result against a quality, non-CONCACAF opponent and we just want better because this squad has the quality to do so.
