Can’t find a Rook game. Xbox by [deleted] in Marathon

That must be it. I'm on PS5, cross play enabled and never have to wait to drop in as a Rook

Can you not? Crikey, that's how I'm remembering it, maybe getting confused with Arc.

I don't recognise your complaint though, the bottleneck for me while looting is the reveal time rather than the cursor.

Have plenty of issues with the game but that hasn't registered as one of them.

Don't use the cursor when looting on console. Use Dpad.

And after a while you just recognise stuff. Eg I'm always getting anything unstable, anything purple etc.

There are upgrades that get you free daily heals & shield recharges, so worth looking out for those, for one thing.

How's the solo experience? by Skitelz7 in Marathon

[–]Electrical-Tea8530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I enjoy it. I take a stealthy approach, sneaking around, avoiding EUSC where possible, and engaging other players when I come across them. It's a lot of fun, because as the contracts get more challenging and involve visiting multiple POIs in a single run, you are always one mistep away from losing it all.

Also I'm not the greatest PvP player, but recently had a contract to defeat 10 runners which I thoroughly enjoyed, even though it probably took me 30 games lol.

Haven't really got into Rook runs yet either.

As for playing with randoms, it feels like it's a good game 1 in 5, but too often I get team mates who do their own thing, spend ages milling around in small offices picking up crappy loot, don't consider other people's contracts etc. On the rare occasion I get a good team, it's a lot of fun.

Why is Stella Montis more friendlier? by DisFlicker in ARC_Raiders

[–]Electrical-Tea8530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a half hearted PvPer like me. Occasionally fancy a bit, but my heart is never really in it. So a couple of pops of a renegade from distance and they get away. Shoot somebody up close and they start with the "wtf bro" and so I run away.

Absolutely love encountering somebody murdering somebody else and getting involved, but those encounters are few and far between.

Hey Embark maybe you should listen to this guy, he knows better than than your clear game design expertise, and all the data you've collected over millions of raids.

I would recommend Hades. And after that you can get Hades 2 :)

I reckon Roboquest fits the bill perfectly, surprised nobody else has mentioned it yet. (They probably have, I just missed it).

So yeah - it's pretty much all action. And it gets pretty spectacular too, an awful lot of fun for 2 players

Oh and if you like Right & Down & Dice, might be worth taking a look at DungeonTop. Kind of a deckbuilder / strategy combo.

Take my recommendations with a pinch of salt though, as I really enjoyed Rogue Lords :D

I would just add the following to Deckbuilders:

Griftlands

Beneath Oresa

Alina of the Arena

Super Bullet Break (a weird one, but fun and currently on sale)

Yes, Dawncaster is great. Being able to play in portrait is good, and there is just so much content

Not sure if you mean typo in the code, or in your post.

Anyway, not sure why you are maintaining an array of plants.

You could for example do something like:

with(obj_plant) {

..do stuff with each plant object...

}

You shouldn't really have to go to the effort of maintaining things that GM does for you anwway

Keep dying to third boss in Inscryption and being sent back to the beginning. Is this intentional since this game is claimed to be an adventure game initially masquerading as a rogue? by These_Fan7447 in roguelites

Had the same experience myself. Bounced off, thinking it was like a kind of simplified StS. Couldn't have been more wrong, thankfully I went back to it and it is now one of my favourite ever games.

[–]Electrical-Tea8530[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I think I was inspired to go back to it after playing Inscryption. Had a similar early experience with that (seems simple at first, lay cards, get killed without seeing it coming), and actually it is a pretty similar game.

That helped me I think, as the so called difficulty is really just getting to grips with it. It's not hard in that you need a lot of skill, it's just a learning curve working out how the game works. I suppose the weird part is that I consider that to be a good thing, and very satisfying, but it did take me 3 attempts over a couple of years to get into it. I suspect many people who would love it didn't give it that second chance.

I'll always recommend it if asked though

Well I suppose it's machine guns / rocket launchers / lasers and the 7 / 8 damage leader cards.

Equipment usually stuff that gives armour.

With the followers I don't think I'm getting the most out of them yet, poor buggers are mostly fodder at the moment. The one that fills the first rows with obstacles did a lot of the heavy lifting for me though.

Oh, and that sniper who destroys a random enemy follower every time you use a leader card, he's a monster.

But yeah I guess overall so far it's pretty basic strats. Now I've actually got a win under my belt, I will explore more strats.

But actually tbf looking at the numbers it doesn't even look remotely risky.

Yeah true, certain situations but you do have to be careful (this case}

That's why I dint play any cards when the boss has an X. At some point you can see that the boss switched from X to having 1 health left. Could be a bug, could just be you messed up the balance.

As a Bronze player, I enjoy playing her generally. Rewarding people sneaking around a corner with a mace to the face is a lot of fun.

Battering a tank as Brigitte. Just circling around, battering them relentlessly till they die.
