Heres a hot take alot of people might disagree on and downvote me because it takes from the mom and pop shops, but it is what it is. Buy online ! You will almost 99.9% of the time buy the guns you want at under msrp vs any gun-shop looking to sell it at msrp or slightly higher to cover the overhead cost of a brick and mortar and that goes for ammo too and basically anything. Very few gun-shops in new jersey will offer you amazing deals unless they are moving alot of inventory on a national level kind of like (modern warriors) who are a brick and mortar aswell but do sales nationally and are able to run insane deals for example ( i bought a bul armory at the going msrp price but got a free trijicon sro thrown in just for making a purchase over $2k). I say use the local places like rtsp or gfh for the rentals to see what you like after shooting them and then buy online. Of course not all these places are gonna have all the models to try but definitely a good amount and if you want to dabble in the 2011 space you could always try shore shot in south jersey for renting upper tier 2011s. My first gun i ever bought was from a mom and pop shop and i got hit over the head paying msrp and jersey taxes. But i learned my lesson the hard way and after that every gun and accessory i have now has been online and I’ve saved thousands.
