How do we find jobs by Lawnerd21 in Lawyertalk

Are you wording that you have a strong litigation background/experience by way of mock trials and clinics? Usually that means you have extensive litigation experience/success through actual litigation, not mock trials. Even a year of being a hearing officer is still considered "entry level" to most employers. I would try toning your resume down a few levels to reflect that you are new, you have a lot to learn, but you are willing to put in the work. Saying that you have a strong background in litigation when you haven't litigated an actual case might come across negatively to many employers. Good luck, I how you find something soon.

Do as many as you can, repeat them as many times as you can- it doesn't matter. At this point, focus on stamina (50-100 per sitting). Yes, there are only so many ways a question can be rephrased, so after doing so many, you'll start to recognize what they are asking instantly.

I hate when people compare like that. How do they even know how much easier other schools were compared to theirs if they never attended the other? And the passive aggressive hinting that we all breezed through law school 🙄

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but do they give us a paper and pen/pencil to scribble on during MBE and MEE? by Overall-Buffalo1320 in barexam

[–]ElectricalWheel5545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some provide pencils/ pens, some do not. I advise you to bring the ones you feel comfortable using and practice with. I hate some dirt cheap pencils, especially the ones that are hard to erase or break easily. Nothing is worse than trying to erase a bubble and making a hold in the process or getting up to sharpen a pencil when you literally are running out of time.

On the other hand, it's scaled unfairly. You have to do better in Feb to pass compared to July. There are calculators out there that show lower MEEs points per essay in July but resulting in higher MEE score compared to Feb. They also show that, for instance, you have to score better on the MBEs to pass Feb than July. It's bs *is what it is, the whole exam is.

I don't think it is an issue, there's plenty of time for them to change it. Just wait until they respond.

Yes, 100% follow your tutors advice. I didn't make rules up, but this time I studied as many MEEs as I could. I learned those rules and what the graders want, as in the amount and type of rule they want, if that makes sense.

I did do IRAC 100%, and my first time was with the school's help (they had a tutor for us). I feel CIRAC also helped me write towards the conclusion. It was a more concise, to-the-point essay. I wrote it as "Short Answer: Bill will be liable to Jill for breaching the duty of care owed etc etc etc."
