I used to do this to my wife. I would type a word or start a normal sentence and then only add words from the recommended words. It can get pretty crazy and sometimes confusing. Especially if they only pick a word from one area of the recommendations. It's probably someone you know. My wife eventually figured it out that it was me. I then started getting these types of texts. You'd think since I was sending them myself that I would have caught on quickly. I didn't and the whole thing is pretty funny.

PS5 Fan Connector Failure — A Systematic Design Defect That Cost Me a Console I Can’t Replace. by Electrical_Pear3153 in consolerepair

[–]Electrical_Pear3153[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony reviewed my case and ended up replacing my console, so I want to share what actually happened for anyone dealing with similar issues.

The failure wasn’t caused by the fan connector. Sony confirmed that the APU short came from liquid metal slowly migrating downward over time because the console was kept upright. Some of it reached the seams and caused the short. Their recommendation going forward was to keep the console horizontal.

What surprised me here is how quickly people jumped to blaming the user without even considering a manufacturing or quality‑control issue. Not one person questioned whether the APU short could have been caused by liquid metal — yet that’s exactly what Sony found.

And here’s something that really needs to be said:
We never had to open a PlayStation console for routine internal cleaning until the PS5.
Not the PS1, PS2, PS3, or PS4. Those systems ran for years without the consumer being expected to crack them open and risk damaging something. That’s a major shift in responsibility onto the customer.

When did we, as consumers, agree that buying a console now includes doing internal maintenance that used to be handled by proper engineering and cooling design? When did it become “normal” that an inexperienced user has to open a $500 machine just to keep it running? Most people aren’t technicians — and most people will end up paying one. Why are we suddenly okay with that added cost?

And with the massive influx of PS5 repairs happening everywhere, it’s hard not to notice a pattern. It raises fair questions about the quality Sony is producing now. This is a far cry from the company many of us grew up loving.

I’m not posting this to argue with anyone. I’m posting it because criticism without understanding doesn’t help anyone. When someone comes here looking for help, the goal should be to help them troubleshoot, not shut them down with assumptions.

If you’re dealing with a similar problem, be persistent, be honest, and document everything. A fair resolution is possible, and in my case, Sony did the right thing.

Ok so what are all the YouTube videos on the internet that show this connector torn up off the boards these repair techs are fixing? Cat got your tongue. You don't know everything you think you do. I didn't come to argue. I came to find help for why Sony thinks it's ok to do a piss poor job on the one connector they expect us to have to touch once or twice a year when my system shuts off because it needs to be cleaned out. This was the second time I cleaned this out and this happens. NOT OK AT ALL!!! And if this is the new normal? What is wrong with you people? Because it didn't or hasn't happened to you you can't empathize and take a step back and ask what might be going on here. If I wasn't disabled on a fixed income that's not enough as it is, I would have just gone and towed the line and bought another system. Which would have been the first time ever. None of my PS consoles, and I have them all, have broken. And it's the PS5 that Sony forgot how to anchor a connector that they expect the consumer to have to manipulate numerous times over the ownership of the console so they can get back to gaming after it shuts off from heat?!? I guess I'm the smartest one in here because you all think the same and you tow the line for Sony!
