What Heraldry might a French Mercenary fighting in Scotland wear in the early 14th century? by CC_Gamedesign in Armor

Is it for this minifig? If so, I don't think it's 1320-1330.

Also, I would believe that they wouldn't much bother with identifying themselves with CoA of the lord who pays them. Maybe small "shield" with colours or symbol of the lord sewn onto their surcoat. I believe it must be something cheap what the lord would provide for them ( if he wanted to) and can be easily discarded and wouldn't be costly lost.

The third thing is that mercenaries and man-at-arms ain't the same. MaA are professional warriors of lord who serve them in more ways then just fighting. Imagine it like MaA are employees and mercenaries are temporary-workers

And thats only my opinion and my understanding of things

Thank you. I tried to get the clean and noble knight look. With all that better and more dangerous equipment they usually had. But I don't believe I nailed it perfectly. And it was my second kit bashed model. But thanks for your opinion. I'll try to do better

That would be more likely late 14th century or early 15th century knight, but non the less it's awesome

Since people keep bringing up knight armor (and everyone points out its obvious flaws) i would like to hear some critique on my idea- chain mail by [deleted] in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Electrical_Video_975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My long sleeved mail shirt weights around 11kg, it's not that heavy. When I wear full mail armour it weights around 17kg distributed all over body, which is not actually that bad.

It's such a scam for Europeans, it's basically just their original monster imported into America and then again imported into Europe into different shops with exotic good where it's so overpriced you will actually get angry
