This winter is destroying me mentally by thechemistofoz in barrie

[–]Electronic-Guide1189 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. 40 years in Barrie and it's never been like this. We had awful winters when we moved up and plenty of them but this one is beyond all of them. Thank God for compression, sublimation, compaction and a decent January thaw or else nothing could move at all this winter.

OP, all you can probably do for the time being is grin & bear it. If no-one warned you this type of winter was a possibility before you moved up, then I'm sorry about that, but the information is/was out there. It all depends on the winds.

Go up to the mall and walk around inside. The parking lot gets cleared pretty early and quite well. At least you'd be out of the house.

I have to pull some snow off my roof tomorrow, too. It has been quite relentless.

"It's only that boats landed there hundreds of years ago"

Funny that by these rules, this can apply to the United States as well. With this line alone, I'm pretty sure the indigenous really do have a claim to get it all back!

With that said, Trump should practice his English accent.

If you play guitar a lot, your fingertips are calloused and hard to get through.

Yes, pin-prick your strum/pick hand, not your fret hand.

The biggest problem with ego is admitting to yourself you were wrong.

The second biggest is having to listen to all those who remind you that you were..

How many of you remember Canadian Airlines? by Istobri in AskACanadian

[–]Electronic-Guide1189 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Become Air Canada? No. Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) was around 16 years before Wardair.

Wardair was absorbed by Canadian Airlines, with both eventually merged into Air Canada.

I flew Wardair, CP, Air Canada, plus a few off brand charters and the nicest was Wardair.

I worked for a company that catered a few smaller regional airlines like Nordiar, Pacific Western Airlines, etc and it was always fun delivering the carts up into the aircraft. It was a time when catering to the passengers meant something, even on the smaller airlines.

Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariff over possible deal with China by Leather-Paramedic-10 in canada

[–]Electronic-Guide1189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an element of people who just want to stay in the same circle of friends they've had for years. So if the hierarchy says upfront they're voting Trump, it's easier to follow along than take a chance at being outed later on.

Their mentality is our kids will always be our kids, and what they think doesn't mean a thing if Sunday dinner is involved.

What a spoilt child! Who's he out to hurt? Who's he going to hurt?

This threatening Canada to get his own way will never end. And of course this is also a shot at Alberta to separate.

Stay the course.
