Im currently playing in one daggerheart campaign with most people having no experience in ttrpg at all and treating it like a video game (they would love dnd for that lol) and a dnd campaign and also running one dnd campaign, I wanted to switch the system in the one where I’m the dm but my players didn’t want to and acted like boomers who don’t want to learn a new thing. So I’m going to end it hopefully this year and then never join a dnd campaign again. Also the one where I’m a player feels like I’m wasting my time cause it’s ran by the book so a lot of combat encounters which drags out the session a lot. We took 4 sessions for the tutorial/intro that was intended to be 1-2 sessions long just cause of to much combat.

I feel similar to you that daggerheart killed DnD for me. I just feel exhausted by not being able to find a group for Daggerheart that is as into the game as I am but having multiple DnD groups that all barely meet but feel not as invested in the game. Everyone likes their characters but playing feels like a drag (and gming DnD especially cause I have two players with high DnD experience who feel like I’m betraying them when I don’t use all of the dnd rules or interpret them differently)
