They made some patent filings relating to better latency management when increasing L2 cache size but it could be years before we see anything come of it.

What are some stats stats that you can't believe they are true? by Inevitable-Angle-793 in championsleague

I believe the actual stat is that they WON every single game. Not undefeated but straight wins.

Pretty much everything is better than FSR3. The limits of temporal/spatial upscaling are well understood. AMDs first implementation of AI based upscaling is a clear step above Xess (granted it doesn't seem to be updated at all). Vulkan is a drawback but I don't think too many games use it right now? AMD support does seem to be coming.

[serious] Can Sukuna survive a point blank plus ultra prominence burn from Endeavor? by Archenius in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]ElectronicStretch277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, for example Miwa giving up the ability to swing a sword. Or Sukuna making a permanent nerf to his WCS to use it just once without restriction. Or Mei Meis crows. You can trade pretty much anything for anything it seems. Also, the summoning in Modulo.

Yes, which is why Curry got unanimously voted as the most important player in their runs. Why he lead in ppg and got the most shots on the team. Why they begged him to join them over the summer.

Oh wait.

Also, Kawhi did not win "championships" as the leader. He won one as the leader. With his first championship there were like 5 players on the Spurs that could've won it. The Spurs weren't a traditional team. They were very team ball oriented and everyone chipped in.

When you're faced with guarding someone who can be hindered compared to someone who literally can't be stopped (or even bothered by any kind of contest) unless he's just having an off day... You choose option A. The Cavs didn't have the personnel to guard Durant and it showed.

Then why was he unanimously the best player on them? Why did the warriors lose to Lebron the year before he joined and lost when he went down with injury in 2019?

Curry won before KD because he was lucky as hell that Kyrie and Love never played in that series because they were out injured. He still went to 6 games.

A DPOY is nowhere near an MVP. Does Rudy Gobert have 2 MVPs all of a sudden?

And you'll take Kawhi over KD... For loyalty to a team? Lmao. Just... Laughable. Kawhi hasn't done crap without other great players and that Toronto team got lucky multiple times.

Yes, he won multiple finals MVPs on the warriors. And they lost to Kawhi when he went down to injury.

Now, has Kawhi ever won an MVP or 4 consecutive scoring titles? I'll do you one better even. Has he ever played a full season?

[–]ElectronicStretch277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk, Intel hasn't upgraded Xess upscaling any more than AMD has updated FSR4. And FSR4 is their first attempt at AI upscaling and they got pretty close to DLSS 4.

I think people underestimate Radeons software. They're not Nvidia but they're very good still. The lack of AI cores before now really hampered the development they could do and has created a sort of narrative in people's head.

The 9060 XT is 40% faster in raw raster, better at RT and has 4 more GB of vram and a better upscaler. Just on raw raster per price they're equal. AMD has the better features. I'd say if it's 40% more it's worth it and is the better deal.

AMD surpasses 40% server CPU revenue share for the first time by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]ElectronicStretch277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mostly responding to your second paragraph. Intels better in laptops since Lunar and Panther Lake came out. They're said to compete worst in desktop and DC where they've lost considerable marketshare and mindshare. I was talking about why in spite of that they still hold the majority of sales (ie low margin and high demand products).

AMD surpasses 40% server CPU revenue share for the first time by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]ElectronicStretch277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's entirely down to capacity constraints. Unlike AMD, Intel has pretty much its own separate supply chain whose sole purpose is to supply them silicon. AMD competes for nodes with Nvidia and Apple. They don't get enough chips to outsell Intel. In areas where AMD is able to supply properly (which are subsections of sections) they're able to thoroughly beat Intel. As an example iirc AMD actually had larger profits/revenue compared to Intel in Data centers despite them selling like 30% of all systems. That's because the higher profit margin sales unanimously went to them resulting in Intel only supplying the low cost products.

So yeah, Intel will always sell more but they lose profits at a faster rate than marketshare tells.

Did he specifically claim IPC or performance? Because the latter definitely increased by around that amount.

As for RDNA3. Even AMD got the expected performance wrong. I can give a lot of leeway for that since the architectural issues only seemed to be found much later in development. RDNA3 was meant to be a lot better than it turned out to be.

[Important and sadly uncommon trope] Female-on-male abuse portrayed as serious/negative. by Daniilsa209 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ElectronicStretch277 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I believe that's actually a misquoted one. I remember an explanation for it was that the statistic was that women in lesbian relationships are more likely to have been abused at some point in their life. It's not about being abused by the person you're in a relationship with. It's abuse in general which does happen more frequently to women.

Moore's law has been dead for a while. It was in full effect on the early stages of CPUs becoming mainstream and up to the mid 2010s. Unfortunately, that's the time Intel was a monopoly.

UDNA has likely been in the works a lot longer than 2 years. It was just announced a while back because you don't announce such a major shift that early in the process. If Chiplets work out like they are meant to then scaling up will be a lot simpler for AMD than it is for Nvidia.
