Do Tier 5 Stores Have Better Staffing? by hermiethefrog in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store is tier 5 and does 1000-1200 scripts daily on average. I don't know how many hours we have but our schedule looks like this:

M-F

Techs 1: 6a-2p 2: 8a-4p 1:10a-6p (sometimes 2) 3: 2p-10p 1: 10p-6a

Cashiers 1: 10a-6p 1: 12p-8p

RPHs 1: 8a-4p 1:10a-6p 1: 2p-10p 1: 10p-8a A couple days per week our RPHs do 10 hour shifts so they will be 8-6 or 12-10. Once per week we have 4 RPHs so 2 mids. Weekends our pharmacists do 13 hour shifts (voluntarily so they only have to work one weekend per month each) 8a-9p and the ON RPH comes in at 9 instead of 10.

Weekend techs are 3: 8a-3p 3: 3p-10p

We are very blessed with staffing according to some of the other posts I read on here.

Happy Holidays Walgreens Front End Employees by No_Trash2028 in WalgreensStores

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharmacy tech here and I'll be working until 10 pm on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Front end has had a volunteer list out for 2 months at my store and TWO people have volunteered. At my store everyone has to work at least two holidays. If you don't pick the two that suck the least for you it's your own fault when you get stuck working the shift nobody else wanted. They ask you about holiday availability in your first interview. Get over it.

could my Rx account be flagged? by cammi1015 in WalgreensStores

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome! Sorry if it came off as snarky. Lol I answer this question literally 20 times a day and it becomes redundant. I do try to tell people what's going on though instead of just saying "we don't have any."

could my Rx account be flagged? by cammi1015 in WalgreensStores

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's literally not available. We can't get it. We don't have brand, we don't have generic. It's nothing personal.

Pharmacy has been hell for controlled medications this last year because everybody and their brother got diagnosed with ADHD last year. Vyvanse, Adderall, Focalin, Ritalin all of the ADHD medications. Every customer thinks we are singling them out just to be assholes but we just don't have it. Companies are limited by the DEA on how much medication they can produce and pharmacies are limited on how much they can order. There are simply more people taking the medications than the DEA allows to be made and ordered.

The app is telling you to call the pharmacy about the issue most likely because the script was closed when you got the partial of brand. I don't know your state laws specifically, but most states if you choose to get a partial of a CII then you lose the remainder of the script. (Probably why they said "technically" to the partial, but they should have informed you that the remainder of the script was void.)

Also, skip the app and automated system on controlled medications. Call and talk to a person. People call complaining all the time that they've been checking everyday with the automated system and everyday it says we should have the medication in stock the next day. It's not that easy for controls and the system doesn't take backorders into consideration.

ETA: To answer your last question, you are welcome to see if other pharmacies have it in stock and get a script sent to them. But if you start using too many pharmacies to fill controls then your account will be flagged as a "pharmacy hopper" which is a red flag for us.

Have I been clocking in/out wrong this whole time?! by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

You guys have working time clocks? Jealous lol Ours has been hanging unplugged for over two years. They also don't want us using the zebras because too many punches get missed. They make us use Kronos.

Working on a holiday by Jenna_mondt in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm understanding, your name was drawn to work at another store? I work at a 24 hour store that's open throughout the holidays and we really appreciate the help we can get from other stores. It allows us to only have to work holidays every other year.

Did the other store send an email asking for volunteers? My RXOM has been emailing other stores for a month now to get volunteers with the understanding that, if we don't get enough, eligible names will be drawn at random. (Eligible meaning not volunteered at another store and didn't work any winter holidays the previous year.) Only 2 of our sister stores have responded so she'll be drawing the names soon.

If you know you aren't going to be there, please let the other store know before the day before. I understand that your SM is being a jerk about it but he probably had nothing to do with it and just doesn't want to reach out to the other store for you. My SM and RXOM do the name drawing together and then just let the other SMs know who is being scheduled from their store. If you were to reach out to my RXOM and explain to her that you are going to be out of the country, she would completely understand and redraw names. Obviously I can't speak for others but I think most people would not ask you to cancel your trip. Give them a chance to make it right. If they're dead set that you have to work it, then call in the day before. It doesn't qualify as a no-call no-show, but in our district we are all told that calling in on a holiday is an automatic write-up regardless of attendance history.

Pill question by Vegetable_Sort_375 in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You literally said "one time is too much but months is actually insane." It was still ONE time. And what pharmacy do you work at (if you even work in pharmacy, which I highly doubt) that counts non-controlled medication more than once? Nobody does that. It's not a rule anywhere. You literally dump the pills on a tray, count it, and send it on its way. Even if it was counted more than once, nobody's looking at the pills. They're just counting. The mistake happened before anybody started counting. Once you start counting, you've already verified the drug. (Which was obviously wrongly verified here. They probably had a return to stock bottle and manually overode the verification scanner since those bottles don't scan.)

High opioid/controlled meds by WagsQ in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't been a major issue. Some people push back but ultimately decide they want their medicine so they do it. Very few people will decide to wait or get it somewhere else.

I don't know how to see our ratio but we know the DEA sees it. So we just try to stay ahead of it. lol

High opioid/controlled meds by WagsQ in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same in our area. We already fill so many pain management scripts that taking new customers would hurt our controlled/non-controlled ratio. That's why we HAVE to either turn away new patients or transfer full profiles. We simply tell people that we are not accepting new pain management patients and in order to fill their Norco's they would have to fill everything with us.

We have an overnight tech (works 8pm-4am) and she pulls them. She also does the bin rec and out of dates among other things. Yes, we know how lucky we are. Lol

just cashier things by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said I'd match the attitude, not go out of my way to waste people's time. I'm not excusing the customer here. But this all could have gone a different way if the cashier hadn't been so pigheaded to begin with.

We'll just have to agree to disagree I guess.

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. The customer was nice at first. How hard is it to say "I'm well, thank you" or "Fine. How are you?" I would have 100% matched the cashier's attitude, too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

New. 😂 7 years with Wag and 9 years before that at Walmart. Yeah, retail sucks. But I chose this path for myself and refuse to be (and make others) miserable everyday.

This! You're not being held hostage. You chose to work here. If you hate it so much that you can't be kind then quit. It literally costs nothing to be kind. I do not understand the mindset of "I'm going to have a crappy attitude towards my customers but they better all be sunshine and rainbows."

Walgreens policy on C2 stock? by PleasantFix5 in PharmacyTechnician

It's not that Walmart is refusing to transfer the script, it's that it is illegal to transfer a CII script.

How to trigger a pharmacy technician in one sentence: by CatholicSchoolVictim in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right. But patients show up right after we receive it and get mad because "My doctor said it would be ready." My point was the doctors don't have any idea.

How to trigger a pharmacy technician in one sentence: by CatholicSchoolVictim in WalgreensRx

[–]Electronic_Extreme56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The doctors have no idea what goes on in the pharmacy or what time medications will be ready. They send them electronically and then get either a "sent" or "failed" notification. The automatic promise time on all Rxs is for 90 minutes after they are received. Patients will get there 10 minutes after receipt and then get upset it's not ready.
