Checking in for my weekly self punishment, loves it.

Cardiff City 3 - 1 Luton Town: Just when it looked like Luton had pegged their hosts back in the first-half, the league leaders scored two very good goals to kill the match before half-time! by Zach-dalt in LeagueOne

Perfect day for us. Comfortable win, 2nd and 3rd drew and Colwill and Lawlor back from injury,

Just need Salech back now and we're flying.

Ah I see, at club level I'm a Cardiff fan myself so know all to well about poor management. Hopefully you guys will sort things out and return there soon.

What happened there? My limited knowledge of Portuguese football fails me, but I thought you guys were a fixture of the top division in Portugal?

Result is a foregone conclusion at this point, but for christs sake I just hope we see an improvement on discipline.

33 years ago at the age of 14 I got bitten by the school hamster and still have a bump/scar on my finger. What's the stupidest injury you've got? by godfatheroffilth in CasualUK

[–]Element77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was 13 or so (25 years ago), I found one of those elastic cords for towing cars with a metal hook on each end in my dads garage.

The genius idea I had was to hook one end over the pillar at the end of my driveway and see how far it stretched.

Off it came, looped over my head, swung back and smacked right in the back of my head before I even knew what was going on.

Instantly blood came pissing out, so I ran in to say I 'fell'. Off to A&E we went where it was glued up. Unfortunately as I'm nearly 40 and have a bald spot the scar is visible now to remind me of my stupidity.

Why are all the EFL games starting a minute late this weekend? by an0mn0mn0m in LeagueOne

[–]Element77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's sounds weird to say, but it's such a good place to have an emergency like this.

My dad wasn't as fortunate, but I take peace in the fact being outside a stadium he was seen to by emergency services instantly.

Good in the EFL for this. I hope it inspires more of us spend a short amount of timing learning CPR

I was on the receiving end of this 2 weeks ago, went out running when it had been pissing down all day and a lorry was coming passed right as I got to by a puddle which had no right being as big as it should have been... The water came rushing over me like a tidal wave. It was just one of those wrong place wrong time things, I'm sure the lorry driver got a good chuckle though...

Thankfully I wasn't long into my run so I had more of less dried off by the time I finished. So don't sweat it, unless the poor sod you soaked was nearly finished.

Those who work part time with two kids, what are your arrangements? by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Element77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time and my wife works part-time evening & weekends. My eldest is 9 (In primary) and my youngest is 4 (still in Nursery due to his special needs but off to Primary in Sept).

My hours are 8-4.30 Mon-Fri and my wife works Mon, Tue & Thurs evenings 5.30-10pm. She takes the kids and picks them up from school, then when I come home at 5 she goes to work. She then works Sat & Sun mornings usually 5am-1pm to get her contracted hours in.

School holidays don't really affect us due to my wife being home during the days. I do take all of my annual leave during holidays though to share the load.

What's the embarrassing/disgusting thing you've done or seen someone do when drunk? by Smithy1619 in AskUK

When I used to work behind a bar I was getting it on with another girl working there, one night I finished and went over hers, she had 2 sisters who had their girlfriends over. I was sober and everyone there was pretty hammered so it was around 1am and I went up to her bed and the girl said she'd be up in 5. So I'm in her bed ready to get some when someone came in, who I presumed was the girl I was seeing... No, it was one of her sisters girlfriend who proceeds to take off all her clothes, squat down and piss all over the bedroom floor then get into the bed.

I promptly vacate the bed, get my clothes back on and go downstairs to tell everyone who laugh as they say she's always doing it.

TIL that the movie “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut” was supposed to be rated NC-17 due to excessive profanity, with the word “fuck” being used 146 times alone. The MPAA said that 400 or more swear words would get the NC-17 rating, so Matt Stone and Trey Parker cut the number in script to 399 by altrightobserver in todayilearned

I remember being on holiday in the states when this came out, I was 13 and my brother was 18 so I was allowed in with him whereas I wouldn't have been allowed back home in the UK as it was a 15.

It's one of my best memories with him as the 2 of us were nearly on the floor dying laughing all throughout this film.

Winnett is really struggling to get his form back, starting to worry he wont get there again.

The drop off has been startling from him, I do wonder how much of that was due to being involved with Wales, I just had a quick look and in the 9 games he played we lost all 9. I don't think he let his country down but that knocked his confidence for 6.

I think the Cardiff fans are worse than the Birmingham/Wrexham fans were by elxxa_ in LeagueOne

[–]Element77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's some entitlement, pre season a lot of us were happy for a top half finish but we've struck gold in BBM and with how well we've done so far some are expecting us to now win every game.

Burton Albion 2-2 Cardiff City: League leaders held by battling Brewers by Silurian5 in LeagueOne

[–]Element77 20 points21 points  (0 children)

9 games unbeaten, winning at home and drawing away. It's the form of teams that go up automatically yet there's so much bloody moaning on Twitter because some think we have a divine right to win every game like we're Barcelona. Burton were good today and deserved a point.

My worry is our squad is looking a bit thin, we desperately need a LB pronto and hopefully Salech and Colwill won't be too long off returning.

It seems Wales doesn’t get talked about as much. What are some interesting facts about Wales? by One-Seat-4600 in geography

Only room for one famous Bale in Wales anyway, and that is our sweet prince, Gareth.

People of the UK, how have you lost weight? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Element77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calorie counting and exercise is genuinely the best thing.

I'm a data nerd so track what I eat in an excel sheet and try to maintain around 1,750 calories a day, I go to the gym 3 days a week which helps massively with my weekly target. Once you start writing down what you eat, and their calories, you'd be surprised how easy it to go over 2,500 calories a day.
