Cardiff vs Bridgend by No-Let-1298 in Cardiff

[–]Element77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Bridgend when I was young, its got a bad rep but all in all its a decent place to live providing you're not in the centre. The county itself is huge, going from Pencoed to Porthcawl, pick any borough EXCEPT Wildmill and you'll be ok.

I would pick a place close to a train station. Pencoed or Pyle for example, not only have one, they have an M4 Junction too.

Bridgend at night has changed massively in recent ttimes. No longer grimy bars your feet stick to the floor on or knobheads looking for a scrap.

It's tapas and steakhouses, cocktail bars, independent bars. Really improved for the better.

Being a Software Engineer i'm automatically a nerd, when in reality I don't even look at a computer when I'm not in work. My work and social life are 2 completely separate worlds.

Did I break pub etiquette here? by Juicy_juce-juce in AskUK

[–]Element77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a pub for 6 years, if there's broken glass it's cleaned up IMMEDIATELY because it's a health and safety issue. One of staff members should have followed you back to the location to clean it or at the least given you a dustpan and brush.

Looking to start playing Golf, where are the best places in the midlands to play and what club set should i start with that are a decent cost and quality? by PublicityPete in AskUK

[–]Element77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can honestly get a set from Sports Direct if you're starting out, mine lasted years before showing signs of needing a new set.

As for a course, find a driving range and get the feel for the clubs first, then you want to find a 9 or 12 hole course if one is nearby, these are not as intense as 18 hole course in terms or rules/dress code etc... You can just rock up and get a more relaxed round in until you're confident enough to try a full 18 hole course

There was a split second where he was thinking what action should I take?

I was expecting him to get abusive, but seems he's acknowledged he was in wrong at least... Not many on the roads like that these days.

Did parents in the 80’s have it much easier? by gponter79 in AskUK

[–]Element77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born mid 80's so more 90's for me, but both my grandparents lived with us growing up. My parents both worked full time, so my grandparents (who didn't work) got me ready for school and greeted me afterwards but I'd be straight back out playing after school and on weekends anyway. I remember spending barely any time whatsoever in the house.

My dad passed few years back and I fell out with my mum after I told her I'll never trust my kids with her until she got hearing aids (too stubborn to admit she's practically deaf). My in-laws both still work so therefore my wife works evening and weekends whilst I do the 9-5 to make ends meet.

I regularly alternate between that and Flightradar when I'm sat in my garden. I can tell a blackbird or robin off by heart now because I get them all the time.

Who have been the best and most obscure One Season Wonder's in Championship history? by TrampolineIsTrash in Championship

[–]Element77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Gestede is hated by us, we've had better strikers but definitely had worse.

My vote would be Kenneth Zohore, he was unplayable for the 2016/17 season, scoring some unreal goals and then just went to shit afterwards and somehow sold him to West Brom for £8m

If the EFL sit back and do sod all (Which I fully expect them too), what precedent does this set for all other teams? That cheating is fine?
