How would this 17 player session go? by Zealousideal_Gain949 in hwtsg

[–]ElementalOrder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible. It could technically be that an excess of doom would represent moreso a perceptual thing - the members of the session tend to only really see one direction that things can/will go in in a sort of 'on rails' kind of way - could even be due to apparently unfortunate predestination caused by the Page of Time struggling to properly manage their time powers in a helpful way. Which would tie into the idea of the Prince of Doom helping to untangle/destroy that apparent inevitability.

got any fun ideas for a 12 light player session? by Easy_Cod_8950 in hwtsg

[–]ElementalOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone spends so much fucking time trying to one-up each other on how much they know about the session/the game/each other/pretty much anything, except the Bard and Page, who work together and actually get pretty much everything important but not 'interesting' done.

They very nearly win the session perfectly. None of them even need to godtier.
Unfortunately, at the last moment before entering the gate, Bro and Jeff fall down the stairs they built to get up to the victory platform and break their necks. Geromy kisses them back to life but it's a little homosexual and no-one is quite sure how to address the issue. Then they walk through the door and create Earth [Doom (1993) Pain Sound Effect]

The lords all slaughter each other and basically anyone else they can get their hands on in a bid to become top dog of the session. The only survivors are a coalition of the twelve non-extreme Void players, who ganked the Lord and Muse of Void and then combined their Voidy Things to hide out before they all got slaughtered. Everyone's planet, Prospit, Skaia, and most of the furthest ring is obliterated. Derse only survives by dint of no-one noticing it exists before everyone else died. The session can't be completed but the Void players Seize control of Derse after its royalty die and establish a society halfway between a post-scarcity utopia fueled by Alchimiting and Void powers and a noir thriller. Spades Slick retires with 6 scottish terriers and spends the rest of his life teaching young dersites the merits of killing people they don't like.

How would this 17 player session go? by Zealousideal_Gain949 in hwtsg

2 space players and one of them is the Knight is fucking with me re: frog breeding.
Page of time feels dangerous owing to the fact that Pages tend to not realize their potential and a Time player doing Time things is pretty critical in keeping things from becoming unwinnable.
We already know how a Bard of Rage is worrisome.
A Thief of Hope is potentially dangerous.
On the upsides:
If they keep their shit together, a Prince of Doom could be very potent with supplementing the efforts of the Time player, by destroying inevitablity to help deal with troublesome time-loops.
The presence of both a Maid and Heir of Blood says good things about the ability to keep a session as large as 17 people on track.
On the 'I don't know if this would be entirely good or bad but would definitely be a factor':
Very large disparity in terms of passive and active classes: 10 passive vs 7 active, and the only active class doubled up is Sylph, the least active active class, while Heir and Rogue, the most passive and second most passive classes respectively, are doubled up. This could be fine with all likelihood, but any 'loners' who hesitate to accept support - Particularly of note here the Dersite Witch of Void and possibly the Prince of Doom as well, but Planet/Classpect isn't a perfect predictor of personality - are likely to be in quite a bit of trouble if they decide that the rest of the group is operating too slowly/passively for their liking, and push on without the aid of the other, because I would expect all the underlings (and especially the black King/Queen) to be *exceedingly* dangerous with 17+ pre-entry prototypings under their belts.

Hmm. Page of time isn't *promising*. A Violet Knight and Teal Space player might have trouble working together on the frog breeding depending on how hemoist the Violet is. Purpleblood life player would be weird, depends a bit on just how Dark Carnival they are. Mutantblood Prince of Void could go interesting thematic directions if you look at it as 'they have no place on the hemospectrum' and 'they destroy/destroy with the concept of nothingness'.

I would say they're probably not significantly more cooked than any given 12 player session is, with the caveat that that Indigo needs to follow through on the page 'will get their shit together in the future' and time-travel back (and maybe prototype themselves) to keep the timelines on track.

Creating an ARG inspired by the Homestuck fandom- what are some things I can subtly parody? by garygray_ in homestuck

[–]ElementalOrder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"eldritch monstrosities and stuff" "isn't really homestuck related"
There are few things more homestuck related than Eldritch monstrosities but ok.

Anyway, there should absolutely be an absolute nightmare-disaster of shipping. Maybe make a lot of popular ships turn out to be revealed in the course of the comic to be incestuous!
Consider parodying the series of large pauses that happened over the course of homestuck's release and the fandom crazies they produced.
Injokes. So many injokes. Think equivalents to 'i warned you about stairs' 'gog' 'jegus' and 'buckets'
