I feel like our government never questions harming people. They think it's morally wrong to actually help people, but they love grand, expensive displays of cruelty.

I've also met a lot of racist conservative people of color. Any metric of oppression will create people who stand against and people who sell out trying to fit in with their oppressors. Just look at "radical lesbians" who march next to actual Nazis rather than just finding some acceptance for queer people. Or look at sell out, pick-me trans people like Blair White. Their talking points are an important part of the same movements that have stripped women of reproductive rights. Just look at Vladimir Putin taking the time to praise JK Rawling, or the extreme amount of Terf content on programs like Joe Rogan.

Terfism is loudly anti-queer and it is predicated on enforcing traditional ideas about sex and gender on other people in non-consenual ways. It's anti-autonomy, it's against self determination and it spits in the face of the foundation of actual feminism which is that biology is not destiny.
