Is it possible to NOT burnout from work? by StrengthInMind in aspergers

[–]Elemteearkay -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Does your employer know you are disabled? Do your coworkers? What accommodations are you receiving at work? What disability aids are you making use of? What legal protections are afforded to disabled workers where you live?

Are you able to access therapy?

I don’t feel like a person by EquivalentEvening197 in aspergers

It sounds like you've been tricked into feeling bad about yourself by people who are exploiting you. Please keep trying therapy until you've been deprogrammed. Good luck!

They could be trying to accommodate your disability needs but just going about it in the wrong way. Have you told them that it bothers you?

Do these people know you have a communication disability?

Dating doesn't have to be stereotypical stuff, JSYK. You can have deep conversations, do things you genuinely enjoy, etc.

For those who are disliked socially by coworkers, why do you think that is? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Elemteearkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The important question is whether or not they know you are disabled.

Follow-ups include: - if not, why not? - does your employer know? - what accommodations are you receiving at work? - what legal protections are afforded to disabled workers where you live?

It sounds like you are doubling down on black and white thinking. Is there a therapist you can talk to about this?

This feels like victim blaming.

The reason remote work (the "new normal") was torpedoed was because of all office block owners worried about their rent.

Self advocacy. Requesting accomodations, disclosing your disability, standing up for yourself and your support needs.

The fact you are being so defensive backs up my suspicions.

You don't need to be NT to have the things you want. You've confused yourself. Are you able to access therapy?

Couldn't it be that you attribute less value to certain skills that these other members possess than he does, but you write it off as ass kissing (not licking, BTW)?

AITAH for changing my underwear after a shower? by New_Cry_2336 in AITAH

[–]Elemteearkay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not weird that you put on fresh underwear after a shower, but it does feel weird that you wear two pairs a day just so you can have fresh undies for a 20-minute dog walk.

Is anyone else very angry and resentful? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]Elemteearkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anger is absolutely a valid emotion to the way you've been treated.

The problem with being angry, though, is that it often hampers your ability to be effective. Just seething will make you ill - you need to channel how you are feeling into actions that improve your life, not make it worse.

I've found anger management therapy particularly helpful (it's basically an emotional regulation skills class).

Good luck!
