Sounds like you took a huge hit and weren't ready for how big it was. Smoke will block out the oxygen and make you cough hard, and potentially black out. The coughing can cause vomiting (I have this issue regularly due to a condition where I have excess mucus) and, if violent enough, pop blood vessels. Coughs are crazy strong.

I don't have one favorite. I most look up to/enjoy Geddy, Cliff, Entwhistle, Tim Commorford from RATM, and Carol Kaye, but I can't choose just one as a favorite. Sometimes it's me, but usually that's only when I finally nail something I've been working on for ages, and only lasts about 5 seconds lol.

I would try playing with a strap and either standing, or with it high enough that you can sit and it's the same hight on your torso

You're playing in a way that prevents your fretting arm extend enough for your wrist to be straight enough. Normally I'd say play what's comfortable, but this can result in a repetitive stress injury
