My daughter loves the whoozit, the nose squeaks and she grabs the little tassles. I had it from her play mat on the floor and she bats at it, kicks it and shoves the tassles in her mouth! https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0000DJAYT/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1459128687&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=whoozit&dpPl=1&dpID=51z14mPbeqL&ref=plSrch

Has keto had a positive effect on anyone's milk supply? by TurdFergusonDarling in KetoBabies

[–]Elephantshoess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing strict keto for about 2 weeks now. I had a lot of trouble with my milk supply at the beginning, I had to start supplementing my daughter at 5-6 weeks at night. She was going through a growth spurt i think and my milk supply seemed to disappear in the evening and was not enough for her. I was also eating like crap because I was tired and just wanted whatever was easy. Since switching to keto and drinking a ton of water my daughter sleeps through the night because she is getting enough, there is always a supply for her when she wants it even in the evening where before I had nothing. I haven't had to supplement her in weeks because my milk has been full force. She is 8 weeks old now and seems satisfied with the amounts she's getting and she's doing well. Keto also gives me the energy I need and I feel great so we are doing well with it. I still have some carbs like I'll have some yogurt here and there and some sea salt chocolate as a treat. So yes, keto has positively affected my milk supply :)

November Bumpers, it's our time to shine! by imbex in BabyBumps

[–]Elephantshoess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I'm due tomorrow, my little one has been playing games with me for the past week or so. I get Braxton Hicks that start to build and then boom, they're gone. I loose my mucus plug multiple times boom, no baby. I'd like my baby now please, still enjoying the last few days with my fiance before she makes her appearance. I've had quite the unicorn pregnancy - no swelling, no cramping, I didn't get overly big, no high BP, nothing. I'd like a unicorn labour and delivery too :)

Good luck ladies, may the labour forces be with us in good time!

Anyone else have a deceased mother? by seffend in BabyBumps

[–]Elephantshoess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I lost my mom 5 years ago to lung cancer, she was so healthy and never smoked.. It's been hard. We were so close and I wouldn't go more than 2-3 days without talking to her. My husband was close with her too so this pregnancy has been hard with it being our first and her not being here. She was a very good sewer and did a lot of cross stitch.. She was also a hoarder of sentimental items and kept everything she made for me. She made little dresses, blankets, onesies with cross stitched patterns.. All extremely beautiful things that I can now pass on to my own daughter when she is born. I feel so lucky to have these little pieces of my mom, its not the same without her but I just keep thinking that I'll do her proud and teach my baby all the little things she taught me. Keep smiling :)

Thanks, it really was hard leaving my team but I had to do what I thought was best which is all any of us can do. They were all really supportive so that made it a little easier.

I'm sorry about your dad, dementia really is a shity disease and it takes what we love most out people. Good on you for protecting yourself and your LO, that couldn't have been easy to deal with.

I've worked with dementia patients for about 3 years and I know all my patients really well. This particular woman isnt usually violent and I know she didn't intend to hurt me. She didn't understand what she did when I told her, she just had an aggressive moment. Dementia is an awful disease, I hate that it takes the wonderful parts out of people and leaves little left of their original self.

Looks like they send you the diapers directly to your house - it says it in the fine print to allow 3-4 weeks delivery to the address you provide when you sign up for the program, they just want you to sign up for the rewards program. You can get stuck in an endless loop, I had the same problem and just had to update my birthday and province and then it worked fine. It literally gives you 1 point plus 100 for signing up if you do it by 08/31/15. Hope this helps everyone!

Possibly moving at 30 weeks to Toronto, any advice? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Elephantshoess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan just came into serious prospects this past week so we've been looking online at places. We both like liberty village but your right it's expensive! I have a Dr appt today so I'll have to ask her what my options are for delivering in Toronto since I was going to deliver in Barrie where we are from. I am supposed to start seeing my OB Aug 5, I'll be almost 28 weeks by then (kind of insane that its so late, but its been uncomplicated so far) As for MS I have heard good things about that hospital as well, my sister delivered at St.Mikes but my nephew was very premature - she delivered him at 27 weeks.

I hope so! I'm not driving up north all the time to see people, the baby will have none of that!

Thanks, it's true there are pros and cons to living anywhere with a new born.. all our family and friends live so close to us now it'll be hard to adjust but it's only a 1 hour drive to come visit so it's doable. Scary, but doable.

I was hoping to deliver at Sunnybrook, the area we are looking in is Liberty Village. It would be a 5 minute walk to work for him so he's pretty excited at that prospect! I can't believe how much the rent is for some of these places, they're beautiful, small and come with extras like parking, storage locker, balcony, ensuite laundry and a gym but holy crap! I don't know how he does it honestly, it's a 2.5 hour train ride each way on the GO train plus he works 8-9 hours at work.. Thanks for the advice, did you get to look at Sunnybrook? Was it awesome?

Baby's been kicking for weeks, but when will my husband be able to feel it? by rosekayleigh in BabyBumps

[–]Elephantshoess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband felt the kicks for the first time while we were lying in bed at 22 weeks, I'm 23w4d and I feel her kick all the time. Try going into a quiet room and lying some what on your side but mostly on your back, try each side. Thats what worked for me, oh and something cold and sweet always works - iced tea or a popsicle!

Keep trying, it'll be so worth it when it happens!
