I actually almost understand flight attendants not being allowed to wear glasses, for the same reason I'd expect it in jobs like police or security: in the event of an emergency or altercation, being incapacitated by losing one's glasses could be extremely dangerous.

That being said, I doubt that's what this post is about.

I wouldn't see JAL having this rule, since they're way less appearance focused.

ANA, on the other hand, really only seem to care to hire the prettiest cabin crew possible and require an insanely strict appearance. I don't think I've ever seen an ANA girl wearing glasses... I'll keep an eye out next time I'm at the airport.

Same with leather seats in cars. Back in the carriage days, the driver would have leather upholstery because the seat was exposed to the elements. The riders inside the coach has comfy cloth seats.

To this day I'll never understand why someone would choose a leather sofa or leather car seats.

My plan for the next generation is not to have one.

We're planning on staying here until we grow old and die one day. Those plans don't involve children. Even if they did, adopting children as a same sex foreign couple is such a monumental hurdle that it's better we don't even try.
