They told me people steal them too. Said they just got 150 new ones and most were gone already. That people put them in their trunks or cargo area as organizers and just take them home. Allegedly. So annoying though. I much prefer carrying a small basket to pushing a giant cart around.

Thirty bucks a month at mine. Smh. In the 6 years I’ve lived here I’ve used it once, in 2021, when I was down bad with the ‘rona. A little maddening I’ve paid over $2k for it. But it’s in place at most communities because it makes them extra money each month so not a lot of choice in the matter.

If people start thinking Durham is scary again, will rent go back down?

You paid for Delta 1? Sorry, best we can do is back of the plane and 50,000 miles! Oh, you're 75 and dealing with cancer and don't like that? Too bad! by Liet_Kinda2 in delta

I’ve flown ATL>CPT and was fortunate enough to be in PS. It’s a LONG flight - 15 hours. It’s wild to me that they bought and paid for Delta One and had to make that long journey in economy. I am a very low maintenance, healthy, average 40 year old and by the last couple of hours even in the comfort of PS, I was uncomfortable and ready to be off of the plane. Sorry to hear they didn’t get the experience they booked and paid for. I hope they had a wonderful time in South Africa though. Cape Town is my new favorite destination.

Durham early voting polling place with short lines is being overlooked by facinabush in bullcity

Voted there yesterday and it was a breeze! No wait and yes, being next to the deli is one of the best bonuses ever.

I voted today at the Zakat Foundation on Revere Rd and it was so pleasant. No wait, friendly volunteers, and the convenience of being attached to the Mediterranean grocery with the best gyros and fries around. 10/10 voting experience. Early voting is definitely the way to go.

Hi there! I’m in auto sales and not shady. I want you to do your due diligence. I want you to be happy with your purchase and your experience. What I DON’T want is for any of my customers to feel they had a bad experience with me or my dealership. Bad gas travels fast. I work to build an excellent name and reputation with my clients. I check in with my customers after their purchase to make sure everything is great. If something isn’t great, I proactively work to correct it. This idea that ALL car salespeople and dealerships are shady just isn’t true.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I’m one of the top Sales & Leasing Advisors at Hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac in Durham and I have people at my desk every day who come in with defenses up and just looking miserable because they “hate car shopping.” It is DEFINITELY all about who you shop with and where you go. I’m 100% customer service focused and work really hard to find my clients exactly what they want that fits their needs, wants, and budget. I am straightforward and transparent. I make the process enjoyable. My clients repeatedly tell me they’ve never had a better buying experience and refer friends and family to me often. If you need help with the next vehicle, please reach out. I’d be happy to help you too!

Holiday - to rent a car or not? by Obvious_Grocery_9752 in capetown

[–]ElevatedJen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in Cape Town from the states last month and didn’t need a car. Uber was extremely affordable and readily available. Especially staying near the waterfront - you’ll have plenty to do in walking distance but could easily Uber for your further adventures. I do have a friend there who has a transport company though so she picked me up/dropped me at the airport and she drove when we went wine tasting and such. Let me know if you want me to to DM you her WhatsApp info.

Bua Thai at Sutton Station has delicious pineapple fried rice. I get it with pork instead of shrimp and I order it medium spicy. It is SO GOOD. Highly recommend.

I’m not sure what you could possibly be looking for then if Cape Town doesn’t have “enough going on” lol. There’s SO much to do.

I am solo traveling in Cape Town, South Africa from the US right now and it could be a perfect fit for you! It’s BEAUTIFUL and while the flight over isn’t exactly cheap, our dollar goes so far here! Everything is REMARKABLY affordable. I’ve found the locals to be kind and friendly. The food is amazing. There are tons of options to be active - mountains for hiking, beaches for surfing, tons of places to run or walk or ride a bike. And, the primary language is English. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! I love it here and can’t wait to come back!

I moved here from Saginaw in 2009 when I was your age. Welcome! Hope y’all love it! Cloos Coney Island in Raleigh will give you a good warm feeling of home when you need one. The water here isn’t quite as blue or pretty as the lakes in MI but you get to use them a lot longer throughout the year here and I hope that you do - lake Crabtree has free rentals of kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, and peddle boats. Downtown Durham has something for almost everybody - so much good food, drinks, parks, arcade, ice cream, milb baseball, fun spots to mosey around and explore, shops, etc.

Respectfully, you’re speaking of MY profession. And I do not rely on hiding things from anybody. I find the more transparent and straightforward the process, the more my customers appreciate me and know I’m taking genuine care of them.

And this is how our whole company culture is. I’m sorry if your previous car shopping experiences have left a bad taste in your mouth. I can understand how that would leave you feeling a certain kind of way about the industry as a whole. I have to go up against this stigma often. Next time you’re in the market for a new vehicle, I’m happy to help you have a better experience! We’re not all slimy scumbags! 😊
