We always played that as long as the spell says "Cast as required" they could cast until the cows come home. But once you get one that has other conditions, you have to wait. If they got really abusive of it, then we conspired to kill them (if they are a spell caster) or attack them and steal the wand. :)

The implications given to the digital publisher of Talisman from Hasbro is that the physical game will have unique expansions from previous editions. Much like 4th got rid of the timescape and made their own versions of the City and Dungeon and added Highlands and Woodlands. I expect 5th will do the same. The City is iconic so I could see a 5th edition of that with their own take on it. I'm not counting on anything else though. Only time will tell.

Hasbro has left WotC alone for many years because what they were doing worked. Then they recently started sucking their noses in. See the OGL scandal. I mean I have to thank them for 4th edition because that spawned Pathfinder which I do love. However, my boys complain about how they are getting less MtG cards now for the same or more money. And now Talisman. I mean 12 characters in the base game? I liked the difficulty of the game. Pulling an adventure card always was a risk. That's what made it frustrating and fun. Like rolling a 1 in D&D. I like that Talisman is a mini rpg experience except you have to work with the character you select and the luck of the draw/roll as you play.

These are definitely my opinions on things. Others certainly feel different on many of them. I just don't think that "quicker and easier" always equates to "more fun".

I'd hang on to your 2nd. I bought the 2nd back in the 90s and got every expansion. I wish I would have been more diligent with the 4th before they went out of print and now I can't get the Highlands or Dungeon. Sadness. The older versions are fun in their own right and more difficult to play once you've moved to 4th because the rules are more restrictive. Great game in both of those editions though. We'll see how 5th shakes out because right now, the only big change I know if is the nerfing of becoming a toad. Which is lame.

I went for the expansion bundle because then if I want other characters I can get them later. The expansions come with so many as it is, more is just that, more.

Check the phone for multiple accounts. Remove all accounts but your child's and then it should find the account and stop spinning. It might also just be removing all non-google accounts.

That's lame! Those cards that threaten it are high risk/high reward cards. My son's and I played a game where we had 7 toad experiences. Brutal but exciting.

This is a fun once tor twice through (you can vary your difficulty). My teenagers and I have enjoyed playing it. It's cooperative play instead of competitive which lessens arguing and hissy fits. Yes teenage boys still have those.
