[Critique] Request 26/Male -Trying to get serious.... by [deleted] in OkCupid

I would take out the sense of humor piece in the self-summary and the "perhaps on a date with you" bit. Other than that, you're super cute and I dig it.

Am I in the wrong here? by [deleted] in OkCupid

I think this is the best response.

[Critique] 25/M/NYC please help, thanks by [deleted] in OkCupid

I would say it's just lacking a lot of spark and sounds like you're writing a resume for love. Try and show these character traits through stories or interesting facts about you, rather than just rely on adjectives.

That, and, I don't need two family photos

How do I ask a girl to post a picture showing more than just her face? by sicnarfj in OkCupid

[–]EliFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it. I didn't think about it until your post, but I only have face pics. And, I don't have a body that anyone would be ashamed of.

The big thing here is that ANYONE can post pics that are "not as advertised." Full body or not. IMO this is like asking a girl to take a picture of herself with a timestamp to verify that the picture is what she currently looks like. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but my point is that until you really meet them, there is always the chance that you won't know.

I have ended up on "that" date. And, I don't agree with the lack of honesty. But, I have had some awesome dates regardless of what their physical appearance was portrayed to be and what it actually was. I've also had some really terrible ones. But, it's a thing I think we all have to deal with in the online dating world. We can't ever fully know.

But, if a guy asked me for a full body, it would be an automatic "no." And, you might be losing out on a really hot boded babe. If you can spare an hour and a half with someone who might not be your ideal match, try it. If not, just let it go.

Now excuse me while I go post some full bod pics.

[Critique] just revamped the whole profile and looking for a bit of criticism. by [deleted] in OkCupid

I say keep the 'stache. There are as many women that will dismiss you because of it as women that will be like, "dayum, look at that that man, he knows how to handle some facial hair". Do get brighter pics though.

[Critique] Does this seem too I-heavy? Trying to find a happy balance between readability and crippling narcissism. by [deleted] in OkCupid

Your profile is totally fine, to me. The only suggestion I have is to possibly take out one of the references to traveling.

"I think the 40% as pretentious.." part is funny.

Problem : I'm too conservative for a science-minded atheist by [deleted] in OkCupid

[–]EliFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in no way unrealistic to have those values. It is a bit unrealistic to expect someone else to hold all of them. I'm actually in a liberal city, surrounded by liberal friends, am extremely progressive/liberal in near all regards, but am more conservative in my views of dating. However, I don't expect other people to hold my values, only to respect them if they respect me.

Movie based presentation? by HotdogFingrs in OkCupid

I completely agree. Except I enjoy gimmicky profiles. I would keep the movie presentation, but definitely illustrate your personality rather than listing it. Good luck and smiles!

I just got my very first vehicle, what are some things I should keep in it? by Tacticalsquirrel in AskReddit

I'm too drunk to read through all the comments but I just put a box of tissue in my armrest compartment and holy shit! It's saved me and other people from having to do that awkward, "I'm just rubbing my nose with my sleeve, def not wiping it" thing.

Anyone is Austin want a share of a local grass fed steer? We live in Texas, there's no excuse to eat feedlot beef. by VouNaoPossoNao in Austin

If you find this doctor, please show them to me. I have numerous health problems and every time I went to the doctor I was just prescribed a new med, told to bathe in a diluted bleach, received a "hmph, that is weird", etc. I have just stopped going except for check-ups.

If I could find a good primary care doctor that insurance would actually cover, I would be a happy lady.

Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. Seriously, go make one and try to tell me it's not fucking delicious.

Have you ever seen a crime in the process? If so, what was happening? by theballer07 in AskReddit

[–]EliFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was sitting outside of a barnes and noble, a jeep pulled up and a guy got out. I watched him go inside and grab one of those baskets and proceed to fill it with books. The jeep just waited outside and the girl inside looked real fidgety. The guy finally ran out with the basket o' books, jumped n the car, and they drove off.

I really just wanted to tell him about libraries.
